STAR WARS Jedi Academy III: Heir to the Sith

A Long Time Ago In A Galaxy Far, Far, Away....

    STAR
    WARS

    Jedi Academy III

    HEIR TO THE SITH

10 Years after the Yuuzhan Vong Invasion ended there is still unrest in the galaxy. Many refugees of worlds conquered by the invaders find themselves estranged by the terraforming conducted on their homeworlds. The GALACTIC FEDERATION OF FREE ALLIANCES, known as the GALACTIC ALLIANCE led by Chief of State Cal Omas, struggles to find new worlds to place the millions of displaced refugees since many of their worlds are no longer habitable.

Coruscant, which was conquered by the Yuuzhan Vong has underwent massive changes. All of the buildings were leveled and covered over by a blanket of thick earth and plantlife. Excavations into the city below continues still while new buildings take root on the new crust. These new buildings include a new pyramid-shaped Jedi Temple and Galactic Senate Rotunda. Into this already tedious time came the Chiss-Killik Border War which threatened to shatter the all-too fragile peace maintained by the GALACTIC ALLIANCE and IMPERIAL REMNANT. Upon the conflict's end, many in the galaxy are now ready to continue work rebuilding the galaxy one planet at a time.

Yet into this unstable time has come a renaissance of rediscovered Jedi knowledge. A new Jedi Academy has been constructed on the ancient Jedi Library world of Ossus. While much long lost information from Jedi has been recovered on the world, more still waits to be rediscovered. Light years away from Ossus comes a new shocking event - worlds from the Ancient Sith Empire - Ziost, Korriban, Shayde, Elom, Vjun, and Thule have united and petitioned the GALACTIC ALLIANCE for membership and representation in the Galactic Senate. Within the coming weeks an ambassador has been promised to discuss the terms personally. Many Jedi are shocked by this news and under the leadership of Grand Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, the Jedi Order is keeping a close watch as these events unfold . . . .

"I'd like to welcome all of our new students to the Jedi Academy. Here you will learn how to use the Force, various lightsaber techniques, history, and diplomacy. I have brought you here to study and to learn, but I myself am still learning. Every living thing must continue to learn until it dies. Those who cease to learn, die that much sooner.

Perhaps it was misleading when I called this an "Academy" for Jedi. Though I will teach you everything I know, I don't want you merely to listen to me lecture. Your training will be a landscape of self-discovery. Learn new things and share what you have learned with others. I will call this place a praxeum. This word, made up of ancient roots, was first used by the Jedi Scholar Karena, distill the concepts of learning combined with action. A Jedi is aware, but he does not waste time in mindless contemplation. When action is required, a Jedi acts."

There is no emotion, there is Peace.
There is no ignorance, there is Knowledge.
There is no passion, there is Serenity.
There is no death, there is only the Force.

"Study the Jedi Code, and apply it. We are keepers of the peace and light bearers to the galaxy, yet we must beware of the Dark Side. May The Force Be With You." - Jedi Master Luke Skywalker

Those familiar with the rules from Jedi Academy I and II need not worry, same rules apply. For those who were not involved, here they are again. A few tweaks added, but same general principles. . .

    1. Players are allowed 2 Characters to control in SW: Jedi Academy III. Mainstream characters such as Lando Calrissian, Han Solo, Leia Organa Solo, Jacen & Jaina Solo, are allowed in this story. This takes place 35 Years after the Battle of Yavin and will go into currently unexplored territory. Meaning There are books on the way out about this time period, however we are telling a different story which makes this thread a true FanFiction Thread. If you know of a Jedi sparsely covered in the NJO and Dark Nest Trilogy novels and you wish to expand on him or her, ask via PM and I'll get back to you ASAP.

    2. No Sith! The reason for this is that all the Sith Character positions that will appear in the thread are already filled. If you wish to be a Dark Jedi, you must first PM myself (StormCrow) or ImperialBA/AgentBlack. We will respond As Soon As Possible, however if we are flooded with request for Dark Jedi - the chances of being allowed are slim to none. We need Light Jedi in this thread - a flood of Dark Jedi will find themselves hunted by both Jedi and Sith and their deaths will come.

    3. You are also permitted to use Starcraft in this thread. However, if you don't know an X-Wing from a Star Destroyer or need help with official craft terms and specs, PM me! I have the New Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels and Technology of Star Wars. Got a question? Give me a shout and I can guarantee an answer.

    4. Character sheets will be used since this is a good way all Jedi are familiar on some level with each other, this will also help others interact with you. Character sheets should look like...

    Name:

Secondary Character (This is for those people I allow to have a secondary, Mainstream character such as Luke, Mara, Kyp, Jacen, Jaina, etc. If you do not have one, then you do not have to include this area.

    Age:

Lightsaber Technique: (Choose from Single Lightsaber or Dual Lightsabers. Darth Maul's nifty Double Edged Lightsaber was specifically a Sith Training Lightsaber he happened to excel in using. and this time I will allow double-edged Lightsabers to be used! However since they are more dangerous they are generally frowned upon by Jedi since they are seen as being needlessly lethal for a weapon meant to keep the peace.

    Lightsaber Form: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lightsaber_combat
Most Jedi excel in 2 Techniques, some have 4 techniques they excel in. IN JEDI ACADEMY III WE ONLY OBSERVE FORMS 0 - 6 AND FORMS 8 - 10. FORM 7: JUYO/VAAPAD IS RESERVED FOR VERY FEW JEDI MASTERS. KNIGHTS DO NOT HAVE ACCESS. YOU WANT TO KNOW VAAPAD, PM ME OR IMPERIALBA FOR PERMISSION.

Lightsaber Color: (Choose from Green, Blue, Violet (Mace Windu exclusively has a Purple blade. Alternative is Violet so just say Violet.), Orange, Yellow, Gold, or Silver. Multi-colored blades aren't accepted unless the core is white with a colored hue. The full Red Lightsaber is reserved for Dark Jedi allied with the Sith. Meaning if you are a Dark Jedi and you are not affiliated with the Sith, you don't have a red lightsaber.

Starcraft: (Once again, I can help get you some different starcraft since not everyone pilots or should pilot a Corellian YT-1300 (Like the Millenium Falcon). If you want to pilot a simple starfighter like an A-Wing or X-Wing or whathaveyou, that's acceptable. Starcraft should also have a name.) Keep in mind most Jedi use X-Wings as starcraft, a few exceptions will be made.

Appearance: (Self-Explanatory. You can be any alien or humanoid from the Star Wars Universe, or choose to be human. Please note Gender and what they usually wear in this area as well.)

Bio: (Give your character a history. Note how they came to know of their Force ability.)

Misc: Personality quirks, traits, likes and dislikes should be stated. This Field is Optional.
May The Force Be With You

    Shas'la Vorrei

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Name: Shas'la Vorrei

    Race: Gen'dai

Age: Undertermined due to Hibernation Process and Species

Force Ability: He is one of the minority of his species that have ability who attained Jedi Knight satus during the Clone Wars.

Lightsabre: Two, his previous master violet sabre, merely symbolic value. His own constructed is light blue, the hilt is made of 'jendari' compound that makes it a polarised handle thus capable of reflecting beam weapononry.

Technique: He has learnt the basics in most form but he has tended to prefer a mixture of sorescu wtih ataru but filling the technique with the difficult use of trakata.

Starcraft: In the process of purchasing one having finished his last hibernation cycle.

Appearance: Tanned skined, he has long white haired tied back into a braided lock. He has light blue eyes, he looks young for he is young compared to those of his home planet. He has the garments of a Jed knight, coloured bage, excepts for his claock that is dark brown. His peculiar nervous and circulatory systems makes him extremely resistant to physical injury. The Gen'Dai physiology boasts millions of nerve clusters throughout the body, and a vascular system that distributes blood without the need of a central heart. Lacking the vulnerable vital organs of most humanoids, a Gen'Dai could sustain multiple lacerations and even, it is rumored, complete dismemberment and yet still survive. In addition to these extremes of endurance, the distributed neural network gives the Gen'Dai phenomenal reflexes. Should a Gen'Dai sustain too many injuries, they are capable of entering into extended periods of hibernation, during which they can heal wounds and regenerate injuries, recover from disease, and slow the aging process.

Bio: Shas'la Vorrei was a Jedi Knight during the clone battles, he had been trained at the old Jedi temple on coruscant, his master was at one time one of the most entrusted Jedi Diplomats. Unfortunately after having received his status of Jedi Knight, he received a distrees call from his old Master, during the clone wars turn. An attempt on his own life by his escprt of clone troops was foiled thanks to this distress call, Shas'la Vorrei attempted to reach his old master but by the time he reached him he was too late. When Palpatine introduced the doctorine for the capture of all Jedi, Vorrei made the hard decission to enter the dark territories, ahving received obiwans single from the temple. Into hiding he went, he made the decision to go into hibernations, his entrusted R2-Unit named Reveek was given intructions to wake him at the the rebirth of the Jedi order. Time passed and news travelled slowly, Skywalkers name tinkled the bells in Reveek, who began the long process of waking his owner. Now shas'la has been awoken, he begins his journey to return to the Jedi temple that has been rebuilt.

    Xan Acolyte and Vosk Zahn

    Primary Character

    First Name: Xan
    Last Name: Acolyte
    Age: 29
    Sex: Male
    Race: Human
    Height: 186cm (6’1”)
    Weight: 84kg (185 lbs)
    Lightsaber Technique: N/A
    Lightsaber Color: N/A
Weapon/s: Ranged: Tenloss Disruptor Rifle (Lightly Modified), Duel DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistols (Heavily Modified) Melee: Zhaboka (Zabrak Sword) Other: Thermal Detonators.
Starcraft: Pilot of the heavily modifed YT-2000 for smuggling named the “Manowar”.
Appearance: Brown hair, hazel/green eyes, lightly tanned, muscular body.

Biography: Xan Acolyte, born on the Smuggler’s Moon of Nar Shaddaa, was introduced to smuggling at a young age by his father, Werder. Xan’s mother, Danija, was against the fact that Xan was only 12 when he was introduced to smuggling; however, it was necessary for their survival. Money was scarce, and the jobs that they could get on Nar Shaddaa would not provide them enough money to live a decent life.

At 18, Werder taught Xan everything that was needed to be a great smuggler. The different types of Spice and where to get them from, different sorts of illegally modified weaponry, Xan met many leaders of many gangs and became one of their closest business associates. At 21, Werder and Xan were given an old busted up YT-2000 ship after supplying the Hutts on Nar Shaddaa with a large Spice shipment. Xan and Werder went to work on the ship, putting in some modifications of their own.

Extra proton cannons and missiles were fitted onto the ship, as well as a brand new top-of-the-line hyperdrive. Werder gave Xan the ship, and named it the Manowar. Werder had a ship going by the name of the Arman, a YT-1300, which was the same model to that of the famous ship the Millennium Falcon, however, it was larger a little larger, slower, and only had two short-ranged blasters.

At 24, a new Spice was discovered on the planet of Ansion which went by the name of Benzodiaspadize, or simply Benz. A huge demand for Benz came from the Clans of the Ancients (the Hutts) on Nar Shaddaa, and both Werder and Xan were sent to Ansion to bring back a large shipment of Benz as soon as possible.

Due to the large shipment, Werder and Xan took both ships on the mission, and traveled to Ansion. Everything went as according to plan: The shipment of Benz was delivered to the ships and put into the secret stockades of both ships. Just before take-off, a small army of bandits attacked the shipment. Xan lifted off and retreated, however, his father’s ship had been breached. The engines demolished making it impossible for the Arman to take off. Xan made way back to the ambush and killed off many bandits using his ship before they were driven away. Xan radioed the Arman. There was no reply. Xan landed and searched the Arman. His father was shot dead, sitting in the Pilot’s seat.

Xan made way for Nar Shaddaa, successfully bringing back his shipment. The Hutts were furious with Werder’s death, and swore their lives to Xan to find those responsible. Days later, it was discovered that the Black Sun Crime Syndicate had attacked the shipment. Many bandits were brought in to Nar Shaddaa, and the rite to execute them all was given to Xan. Xan was given a basic blaster, and shot all 19 of the bandits in the face, staring into their eyes before pulling the trigger on each and every one of them.

Xan continued on to live a normal smuggler’s life. His mother traveled to Naboo and decided to stay there. Xan sent her extra credits when he could, whilst she maintained a job or working in a local pet store. Through the years, Xan was paired up with another smuggler, a Bothan, going by the name of Vosk Zahn, who shared the same ship as Xan, and they were said to be one of the most valuable assets in the Clans of the Ancients history.

Misc. Xan is quite the comedian, being able to make almost anyone laugh. He is very outgoing and will not be shy to meet a stranger. Xan can be, however, very stubborn and obnoxious, and may think that he is right all the time even when he's not. However, the people that know him all love and adore him. The ladies think he's a bit of a sleeze, but they also think that it is somewhat interesting the way he talks to women, captivating them in all sorts of weird conversation. Not many people dislike him, and he has even fewer enemies. But still, he does have his enemies, as do most civilians in the galaxy.

    =================================

    Secondary Character:

    First Name: Vosk
    Last Name: Zahn
    Age: 34
    Sex: Male
    Race: Bothan
    Height: 183cm (6’)
    Weight: 76kg (167 lbs)
    Lightsaber Technique: N/A
    Lightsaber Color: N/A
Weapons: Ranged: DLT-19 Heavy Blaster Rifle Melee: Force Pike Other: Sonic Detonators, Trip-Mines.
Starcraft: Co-pilot of the “Manowar” alongside Xan.
Appearance: Dark tanned skin, black eyes, slim build, brown/blonde hair.

Biography: Vosk has and always will be apart of the Clans of the Ancients crime syndicate. Ever since he was born, he was brought to the Hutts and sold as a slave. It was obvious by the time he was only 16 that he had huge potential in crime, putting his two cents into many smuggling plans which, in the end, proved to be extremely useful. The Hutts pulled him out of slavery and turned him into an apprentice smuggler. He was eventually paired up with Xan Acolyte to form one of the best smuggling pair in the Clans of the Ancients history.

Misc. Vosk is the quiet type, barely ever speaking unless spoken to, or when required to speak. Most think he's a boring character because he is a quiet person, however, getting to know him, Vosk is quite the character, being very humerous and outgoing. He can hide his emotions very well.

    Forgotten... and gone

    Name: Kain Eturu Al Shirah

    Age: 43

Position: Jedi Master, furthermore a jedi Weapons Master and the Combat Historian of the Order.

Lightsaber Technique: Kain carries two lightsabers pertaining to the Jar’Kai form which he has devoted his life to learning. Aside from this he has completely mastered Shi-Cho, Makashi, Soresu, Ataru, Shien/Djem-so, Juyo/ Vaapad, Niman, Sokan. Furthermore expanding on his master abillity of the light saber Kain has perfected his own personnel way of blending all his forms together to make a very difficult defensive/offensive parameter he uses. Kain always starts off with Soresu, standing defensively and using a defensive back stance mixing that with and offensive back. By this he holds his offensive saber high above his head, pointed at the head of his adversary his prominent foot forward with weight on it, however his defensive saber stays in the defensive back position aligned with his pectorals pointed upwards. Now Kain will combine his Soresu with Ataru and begin to dodge weave and duck, back flip and do anything to make his opponent overly aggressive. Using his mastery of advanced Lightsaber combat Kain very actively uses his immense force powers in duels. Force pulls or pushes, whirlwinds and so on. Moreover though Kain uses the Obi Wan Kenobi style and the Tra’kata Style to wait for an attack, a mistake at best. Once his opponent has made a cardinal mistake in his or her technique or left him or herself open, Kain goes strictly into an offensive pattern using the aggressive back again but his defensive saber will be held horizontally across his waist with almost all his weight on his front foot. Though this may seem like a dark pattern he very very very carefully controls himself. Aside from the routine that follows he will only ever strike for critical hits or at the worst killing hits. From here in split seconds, Kain combines all Juyo/Vaapad, Niman, and especially Jar'Kai and Vaapad to fight. Kain will perform a sharp and quick Jung or 180* turn where he will strike with one saber and his opponent will predictable block that. In that same instant he will spin on one leg 360* or Jung Ma and use one saber to accomplish a Sai and the other a Cho Mak, Sai Cha or a Cho Sun strike however if this does not accomplish in defeating the enemy Kain will use Ataru to escape close confines and use a very swift Cho Sun or even A Sai Cha to dispel his opponent. Though Kain has perfected all the above he very actively tries not to Cho Sun his opponents. Kain through years has mastered his aggression and thus this allows him to use these forms that border on dark. Despite this Kain has always and will always be a fanatical believer of [B]“Form Zero.”[/U] Having been one of the chief learners and teachers of this ideology he lives his life by it.

Lightsaber Color: His first right hand offensive saber is a beam of pure craftsmanship a long thick pointed light blade that shines viridian green with a deadly and beautiful silver hue. This beam is very very very high intensity almost unstable but Kain’s craftsmanship has perfected a very stable balance and this blade is said to be able to pierce the hull of a small frighter. His defensive left hand saber is a thick and dull blade very low intensity but incredibly dense beam that is a calming blue with a shimmering sliver hue. Due to the density of the beam it is also said to be able to block many strikes against fellow lightsabers at once and could have at least 10 blaster rifles centered on it and still stand against the forces. Both his sabers are unique in that they are both Electrum hilts and that they use incredibly rare but unconfirmed crystals from the edges of the Galactic rim.

Starcraft: Kain found a very old factory on the planet of Degobah while exploring it. Though the factory was overgrown and almost completely sunken in Kain salvaged a near A nearly ancient Jedi star fighter. This star fighter is ridiculously old it is actually equipped with archaic Magnetic Accelerator cannons or slug throwers. Furthermore the star fighter uses turn of the Century combustion engines. Even the old Jet Black streaked wings and Black and but red striped fusilage paint job is testament to oldness. The fighter dates back to the Great Hyperspace war. Kain spent many years maintaining it and keeping expensive and rare parts for his fighter. Despite this and due to Kain’s ever careful and mindful maintenance and repairs the Ancient fighter runs as good now as it did when it rolled of the production assembly.

Appearance: Kain is a striking human jedi, he is tall and very muscular, fit and thin as well built but cared for. His skin is dark complementing his deep dark eyes and short cropped black hair. His skin however showes the test of time and is a little worse for the wear but is not as it looks for his age. He stands a tall 6'3" weighing a close 244lbs. Despite his age he is very strong, perhaps he is not as swift as he was but he is still very strong and fast for his age. Kain wears the basic master’s robes. The basic five layer white tunic and gei pants white as well. He wears a standard Jedi tac belt that holds his lightsabers and a few pouches that hold small amounts of medical equipment and a few tools to adjust his lightsabers. His long hooded over robe is plain unassuming light brown, finally complementing his robes he wears lace less light brown leather boots.

Bio: Kain… was a ripple in the force. When he was born the masters of the Council felt this, even the youngest of the Members felt his birth through the force. Kain was abandoned by unknown parents and was very soon located and taken in by the jedi. He was a perfect Candidate because of his strength... and he had no parents to interfere with future contact. Kain was nursed and brought to the age of a toddler or youngling and put in training at once. Furhtering this Kain liked it all, he hungered for knowledge and soaked up every single bit of information they taught him. He would spend hours even days in the archives reading stories of Ancient duels and strong lightsaber duelists. He constantly read books on Lightsaber construction and lightsaber technique. He loved to read reports of strong duelists and force using triumphing over evil. He loved it and soon at a young age became a padawan learner, two and a half years later at the age of 15 he became a full fledged knight. Having such an honor bestowed upon him at such an age was frowned upon and the masters always put him to work learning critical leassons. Once again however he always learned every bit of the lessons and took each one to heart. At the age of 19 he transcended and became a master of the high council, perhaps the youngest in history to come. Once again however the masters were cautious of him and took carefull note of him. He was always supervised by masters yet they found not even a kernel of evil in his heart. As a Master Kain was warranted to learn from every single master alive as possible. First and formost Kain was always akin to great Master Yoda and constantly tried to learn from his great knowledge. Later On Kain took apprenticeship under Mace Windu and supposedly was the third person to ever master Vaapad, though it was unconfirmed. Due to his interest in Lightsabers and his abilities in a duel Kain was given a special rank of weapon master. Having furthered himself learning and mastering as many forms of combat as he could. Kain soon took his knowledge abroad and learned from masters all across the galaxy... masters who were long forgotten as well. Kain learned everything about the force and about light sabers he could. When he considered his knowledge acceptable he went far and wide to gain the rarest crystals for his weapons. Kain traveled to so many worlds, fought so many beasts and learned so much about the force and lightsabers it was difficult to fathom. His experience in combat equaled that of ten masters put together and because of his sketchy life details are in short supply but it is known he gained fame for his skill and supposedly loaded everything onto a hidden holocron. Not everything he has done... has been fully document eaither... Details about his life are sketchy at best and due to the Arrival of the clone wars and overshadow by Anakin Skywalker, accompanying this he never took his own records and due to his constant traveling. Kain was eventually stationed on Ossus as the official Combat historian. He taught many famous Jedi lightsaber Techniques, Jedi Such as Aya Secura, Joclod Danva, Asajj Ventress. It is rumored but highly unconfirmed that he fought with elite commando units during the clone wars and even more riskey ventures on undocumented battles. Finally during the extermination of the Jedi he disappeared. His death was not felt and not confirmed but he was not seen for some time. However rumors surround him, it is said that he escaped with very very rare Jedi holocrons, to where and what holocrons are unknown. Furthermore it is rumored that he studied further under Yoda and nearly mastered Tra’kata and then studied under Obi Wan Kenobi before his death at the Hands of Darth vader. Due to certain events his very extrordanary life is, was and continues to be highly shaded with mystery. Despite this and his absence he is once again resurfacing to help restore order to the Galaxy and become one of the premier teachers in the order…

    Name: Riy Ti'ar

    Secondary Character:

    Age: 35

    Rank: Knight

Lightsaber Technique: Single bladed lightsaber. Riy's favouritism lies in the freedom and speed in form IV, despite that the damage is somewhat minimal. It is important to point out that he is relativly inept at harming an opponent unless the chance is profound, but his dodging and acrobatic skills makes up for this. The explaination is that his master was an adept of form III, the defencive attitude was transfered to some level.

    Lightsaber Color: Green

Starcraft: KDY A-9 Vigilance interceptor, "Onis" (Zabrak for 'Abyss')

Appearance: Zabrak Male, slightly below avarage in height (5ft 5in), moderately muscular - perhaps considered physically weak in comparison to most jedi knights. Bald, with generic gray zabrak horns at a count of 7, three in the middle in a line, two on the sides, parralel. His clan tattoos are as simplsitic as it gets: three moss-green lines vertically running down his face, two over his eyes one down his nose, all ending at the chin. His eyes are a dull green, similar to the chrome of his tattoos. His prefered robe color is gray-blue.

Bio: It was a simple day when a jedi made a random, but profound, appearence in Riy's clan on Iridonia. He was only six at the time and recalling that time is hard for the zabrak. The jedi feasted with them, enjoying the company of Riy's rather orthodox and rule-bound culture until a week after his arrival, when he announced Riy's conenction. The clan took no hardship in sending Riy away, assured that he will return. It was since then that the jedi who served as Riy's master, a twilek named Quelli Tarms, mentored Riy to his knighthood.

Misc: Riy is very much bound by traditional Zabrak rules and regulations, and keeps to them despite any jedi teachings that go against them. Being a zabrak he is overly proud and headstrong, but has fantastic willpower causing him to be among the first to bullet into danger. Some regard these traits to be awkward for a jedi, considering he has obtained the rank of knight.

Pain... Pain coursed through her system. Penetrated every fiber of her being. She was on fire one minute, then cold as ice the next. She struggled to open her eyes, to see what was causing her this pain, but she couldn't. She writhed beneath the weight of it. Her eyelids were too heavy for some reason. She couldn't see. Couldn't get them open...

She opened her eyes. She could see now. The pain was fading. Boots... black boots... Gav used to have a pair like those... His favorite pair... They had the cut on the side from where his lightsaber came too close one training session. They were walking away from her. She was laying on her back, her hands wrapped around her large belly, swollen with a baby, looking to the side. Something crunched under the boots that were walking away from her... A flower... Her flower... Their flower...

Blackness enveloped her again, and she awoke one more time, screaming his name. She had searched that deserted planet for hours. Looking for some sign, any sign, that he had been there. That he was alive. She called until her voice was hoarse. Cried until she had nothing left in her system. Her belly was still flat now. But life stirred there. She felt her pain. Kali fell to her knees now, screaming....

Kali sat straight up in bed the large bed. The pictures on the walls, vases and lamps around the room in her home on Ossus were shaking, but they quickly quieted as she calmed down. The sheets and covers were in a tangle around her legs and she was sweating and breathing heavily. Her hair was disheveled and her nightgown was in a tangle around her. The nightmare was the worse one yet. What did they mean? Was something about to happen?

Running a hand back through her curls, she sighed and closed her eyes, trying to get a hold on her thoughts so she could go back to sleep. There was a small knock on her door though, before it slid open. Kali looked up to find her daughter staring back at her as she stepped through the doorway. "Mommy? Is everything alright?"

Seeing he child brought a smile to Kali's face. The one, true, bright star in her life. Had been for almost the past 10 years. In a little less than a year, Arwen Leonia Tal'Set Derragon would be ten years old. She was definitely already acting like she was older than that age. Exhibiting certain qualities and emotions that were present in adolescents at least 5 years older than she was. It took Kali by surprise sometimes.

"I'm fine, baby. Come here." She said, holding her arms open for her child. Arwen quickly closed the distance between them and enveloped her mother in a hug. She was at that awkward growth stage now. Long, lean, and lanky for her body shape, a little girl, that has the promise of turning into a beautiful woman. She was about 4 and a half feet tall and as skinny as a rail. She had huge, dark green eyes that were much like her mother's, and pale, ivory skin, like her father. She had Kali's bone structure as well. High cheekbones, small turned-up nose, and slightly slanted eyes that gave her an almost exotic look. When she grew up, she was definitely going to turn some heads. Her hair was a few shades darker than Kali's, more black than auburn, really. It was just as curly though. Sometimes even more so when she refused to let her mother brush it for her. Most of the time the small tendrils around her face formed a dark halo of frizz.

Arwen broke the hug and climbed into bed with her mother and after readjusting the blankets, the two snuggled close. Arwen laying on her back and Kali on her side, watching her daughter. "Did you dream about Daddy dieing again?"

Kali scrunched her nose up at Arwen. "You're getting entirely too perceptive for my own good." She said with a smile, then tucked one of Arwen's curls back from her face. "But yes... I did." The subject matter might have been harsh for an almost-ten-year-old, but Arwen and Kali didn't keep secrets from each other.

"That's the third time this month, Mom."

"I know, baby." Sensing that her mom wasn't going to tell her anymore on the subject other than that, Arwen snuggled a bit closer. "What did Daddy look like, Mom? Tell me again." Kali heaved a big, exaggerated sigh, and rolled her eyes. "Do I have to?" "Yes!" Arwen said, giggling.

"Alright..." Kali said, grinning. Arwen saw pictures of her father daily. Kali had made it a point to put holos of him around their house so she and Arwen would never forget him. She must have told her daughter a million times what her father was like. But the little girl never got tired of hearing the stories. "Your daddy, he was very handsome." Kali said, twisting a ringlet of Arwen's around her finger. "He's where you get your dark hair from. And this perfectly pale skin of yours." She told her daughter with a grin. "Your daddy was tall, just like Uncle Dane. But not as tall as Uncle Rokky."

"Well, duh. Uncle Rokky's a Wookie. He towers over everyone."

Kali laughed a bit. "As he should. Your daddy wore his hair long, though. Down to his shoulders. It was black as midnight, and very straight. He had the same little dimple in his chin that you do in yours, too, when you're thinking too hard." She said with a grin. "He had blue-green eyes, that changed shades with the color he was wearing or the mood he was in. He was strong too. Very strong..." Kali's voice trailed off as she watched her daughter's face.

"What was he like when he was alive? I bet he was the strongest Jedi ever."

"He was... very strong, Wennie. Very strong. Very powerful. He was also an amazing pilot. He taught me how to fly, and he's probably where you get your piloting skills from." She said, tapping her daughter on the nose.

She wrinkled it up in response. "Uncle Kalib says I take after him."

Kali shook her head. "Uncle Kalib is the one who put a yoke in your hands at the age of 6 months. Your instincts. You get those from your daddy." She sighed, then continued on. "He always had a smile, and a comforting word for me. He taught me much of what I know of the Force.... He was incredible with a lightsaber as well. He was so smooth...." Kali trailed off for a moment, watching her daughter, who was now, fighting to keep her eyes open.

"Tell me more, Mom..." She said sleepily.

"Later, honey. You gotta get your beauty sleep. Kahj is coming tommorow." Her daughter's face lit up with joy as she snuggled closer. Kali wrapped her arms around her daughter, setting her chin on the top of her head, smoothing her wildly curly hair back. "Kahj is coming back?? You think he's bringing me something?? What about Uncle Besk?? Is he coming too??" Kali kissed the top of her head, laughing softly, urging her back down into bed. "I'm sure he is, hon. They were both on the same mission. And you have them both wrapped around your little pinky finger, just like you do the rest of your uncles. But they're not here until tomorrow afternoon. So get some sleep..."

Jesiv glanced at his young Noghri Padawan, Brabakh from the corner of his eye. He had Brabakh levitate small objects mostly stones and even their lightsabers.

The Noghri had both of his black eyes closed and each object moved in graceful patterns over his head. Not once did he break his concentration. That is what Jesiv liked about the diminutive Padawan, he never asked too many questions. Never questioned any of what the Barabel told him.

The two had been Master and Padawan for about two years now. In fact they had more of an older brother relationship then anything. And they got along with each other, each taking advice from the other.

"You may stop now," Jesiv replied after a while. He watched as Brabakh slowly lowered each object to the ground after levitating his Master's lightsaber back to him.

The Barabel walked over to a small closet and produced two training sabers. He tossed one to Brabakh, who caught it with one hand. Brabakh ignited his as did Jesiv. The young Noghri knew what his teacher wanted and was prepared.

For a while the two circled each other. It didn't seem like any of them was going to make the first move. Then Brabakh jumped into the air, spinning as he swung his saber. Jesiv merely stepped off to the side and as soon as his Padawan's feet touched the ground he began to attack.

Due to his small size Brabakh at times had to jump in the air to deflect Jesiv's attacks. The young Noghri managed to combine Shien and Ataru flawlessly. To most it seemed he used Ataru since he rarely seemed to stay on the ground that long and was always just a blur of motion.

They both blocked each other blows, at times they almost scored a hit on each other but they'd either duck or step back. They crossed their blades and stared intently at each other.

"We seem to be in a deadlock once again, Master," Brabakh pointed out.

Jesiv grinned. "Never assume anything, my young Padawan." Without warning he used his tail to take Brabakh's feet out from under him.

The Noghri hit the ground Jesiv aimed his saber at his the grey alien's throat. They both switched off their training sabers and bowed to each other.

"Go, take a break. We will continue this tomorrow. You did well, Brabakh."

The Noghri bowed low to his Master and turned and left the training area. Jesiv lowered himself into a lotus position in order to meditate.

The low hum of a raining droid filled the air of the room, accomponied by the slight changes in the air, the unfeelable, inaudible winds that came with movement. The Force sent ripples through the air, causing the black-clad Jedi with a silver lightsaber to know exactly where the droid went.

    It had juked left.

This was a simple excercise, something that had become second nature to the fighter with closed eyes. He deactivated the blade, so that he still held the hilt, but the droid continued its motions, as it was programmed. The Jedi was training in Trakada.

The droid moved again, as the Jedi stayed still, immobile as a stone, with a charecteristic one-handed Shiien stance. His off hand dangled near the heavy, curved vibroblade at his belt. The droid moved again, and fired in the middle of its motion. The Jedi expertly and elegantly twisted away like a dancer, lightsaber off. The low-powered bolt struck the floor like so many of its partners had. The air's scent was tinged with ozone for a passing second, and a tootle resonated through the air, the charecteristic beeping a blooping of an astromech droid.

The Jedi knew, without opening his eyes, that the droid was painted a uniform space black, and that it was alerting him to someone coming towards his quarters. It couldn't be many people, and they might be slightly unnerved at watching the "blind" swordsman dance with an automated droid. They would get used to it.

The little practice droid fired another blaster bolt this one met with the tip of a silver bar of light which sprung from the silver 'saber hilt. The tip flashed for couldn't be more than a decasecond, sending the small laser back at the droid, striking it for what was the fifth time this session. That signaled the end of this session to the droid. The visitor's arrival was merely coincidental.

The blaster-droid floated over to a nearby shelf and powered down. The Jedi Master opened his eyes. Sometimes, not thinking was helpful. It turned out to be his favorite form of meditation the past ten years, since the 'Vong invasion. Since Master Derragon's death. However, it still irked him a little to meditate standing still. His young body demanded motion, constant motion.

The door slid open, accomponied by a scent that had become so framiliar that the Jedi didn't need his grey-green eyes to see who had entered the room.
"Hello, Beka" he commented dryly with the tired tone his voice had taken on. So young, and already, he sounded like a greybearded old-timer.

Although he coudln't see it, he knew the short woman smiled. "Hello, yourself, Jak,". Her voice, however was not tired, but instead... bored. The Jedi Master called Jak Nox turned to look at her.
    "What brings you here?"
"The Hawkbats are on rotation here," the female quipped back. "I figured you wouldn't mind if I nipped over for a visit,"
"Not at all," Jak said. "I was just about to head out for a drink, care to join?" The girl laughed.
"It still surpises me to hear you say that, Jedi," she joked, sounding significantly less bored. "Sure, but no trying to force that awful Cometduster stuff down my throat."

It surprised her to see that the Master's cloak was already half way on, as if he knew she would say yes. It was either her own predecitablity, or the Jedi were telepathic, despite the fact that Jak constantly claimed that Jedi, as a whole, were not. She still disbelived him.
The black astromech droid tootled and rubbed up against the pilot's leg. "I don't see why not," she said to the droid with laughter in her voice, assuming it asked to come with.

The trio left Jak's quarters, walking abreast, heading outside.

    Name: Jedi Master Xian Tien-Ral

Age: 104 - appears to be in her early 30's

    Lightsaber Technique: Dual Lightsabers

Lightsaber Color: Both are orange in color

Starcraft: X-Wing which she has named Gryphon

Appearance: Falleen female. By human standards she appears to be somewhere in her thirties. Like all others of her race, she has been graced with an undeniable beauty in her features. Her skin is reptilian -- scaled and pale grayish-green hue. In the tradition of her people, Xian sports a plume of jet-black hair, worn in braids and ponytails, ornately decorated. A better idea can be obtained by clicking this link. http://www.rkpost.net/Star%20Wars/falleen2.jpg

Bio: Like all affluent young Falleen, it was predestined by her parents and other relatives that she would embark on a pilgrimage in worlds other than her own. The idea was not to be exposed to other cultures and ways of life, but to further cement that the ONLY way to be was Falleen. She had always grown up knowing this and never saw fit to find out any different. Xian expected nothing more from this journey than to simply see just how far superior she was to everything that the galaxy had to offer.

Of course, as with many of life's little journies, this one did not turn out at all like what she had expected. The Falleen are people of exceptional physical prowess, but Xian was starting to find that even she was exceeding what would be considered "normal." Throughout her entire life, Xian had known that she could feel a little more than the average member of her race. At such a young age she couldn't really put a finger on what it was. All that it would take would be some kind of catalyst for Xian to realize just how special she really was.

Her pilgrimage granted her that opportunity. Rather than scoff at everything she saw, Xian felt oddly compelled to learn what she could. If her parents or any of her elders were ever to find that out, surely she would catch hell for it. Though she still knew in her heart that the Falleen way would always be the best, she didn't exactly look down on these new cultures.

It was through many hours of conversing with different people, even Jedi, and hours of reading that she came to understand about the existance of the Force. Immediately, she knew what it was that she had been feeling all of these years. When she was schedueled to return home, Xian knew that she just couldn't do it. She had to stay away and become a Jedi. Fortunately for her, she was accepted as a student. (not the best bio, but eh...it works)

Misc: Like all Falleen, Xian is definitely what one would call proud, and maybe even arrogant. She is very self-assured and at times, overly-confident. And, she also never sees the benefit of showing much emotion in front of others. Such things are a waste of time.

    READ AND HEED

Sorry about the last time, but I have recieved permission from the moderator in the RPG Tavern and the thread will not be deleted. Here is the link:

    http://forums.rpgchat.com/showthread...47#post1793347

Everyone will need to move their character bios to that thread and then delete them from this thread. That way we have a focal point for all bios and we can keep this thread free of clutter and allow us to easily access bios without going thru the entire thread looking for them.

Once everyone moves their bios I will delete.

Again, the other thread will not be deleted so feel secure that you can post with no problems!

The Jedi training room sat quiet and dark. A long firgure stood in the middle of it. The quiet breath of Master Jaer Darkon was the only thing that heard. This too was quite still. His left leg was extended outward and bent at the knee. His right leg was stretched back keeping his balance perfect. His left hand was behind his back and his right hand held his lightsaber horizontally. This was the stance for his own mastered style of Dul'Ruh. his head was down. One thing to note about this style was the way the lightsaber was held. Where the saber would flare out was point towards the wall. So should Jaer be holding it the normal way, it would be pointing at the ground.

The click of one of the four training droids allowed the quick movement of Jaer foward, which made the droid miss. The machine in front of him fired a blaster round as well. Master Darkon's green lightsaber flared up as he cocked it at a 45 degree angle which cause the beam to veer off, destroying the droid that had fired first. With his left hand outstretched, the droid in front him exploded due to a course of lightning designed to destroy droids in a single blast.

As another blast came from his left, his saber left his hands as its course was straight to the head of the droid. The blast bolt that came from the doomed droid's gun was then redirected towards the droid to the rear of Jaer. As this happened, droid let a single shot fire at Darkon. This shot was caught in air by the redirected bolt due to Jaer's mastery over the force. He then flipped towards final droid and while doing so caught his returning lightsaber. As he landed, his right moved from his side grasping the lightsaber and moved across the droid, severing in two peices.

The lights brightened some allowing the four broken droids to be revealed. Jaer's eyes moved from them.

"To fully grasp the force, you must used aspects of it that can be grasp at any other given time. Droids are some of the hardests opponents for a jedi. They fear nothing, nor does the force flow through the wires that allow a droid to run. A Jedi must learn to manipulate their power and turn it to an advantage. Such as force lightning, which some of you may know as a Dark power. Do not fear this power when it comes to droids, for it is effective against their binary and circuitory systems. But always remember, my younglings, that any power that drains the life of one can be a road that none of you should ever want to trend. You may go."

Master Darkon said as he watched the group of younglings travel out of the training room. Darkon then moved down the corridors, pasing fellow jedi and nodding slightly at them.

Coming outside of the Temple he sit down amongst the grassy lawn and open up a rather large book. Basking in the light, he would begin reading.

Father, Brother, Husband, and Jedi Master

The area around the ring smelled with ozone as lightsabers clashed against each other. One of the combatants was a male Wookiee Jedi Knight, and his opponent was none other than Jedi Master Kyle Landoran himself. The Wookiee opened up with a Shien slash, which Kyle countered with a Djem So block, then proceeded to press on the offensive against the Wookiee with a few Djem So and Shien slashes. The Wookiee managed to counter with his own sheer strength, however, and pushed Kyle back slightly with a Shien block before pressing on the offensive. Kyle could only block with Shien defenses as the Wookiee pressed on the attack, but he eventually managed to push the Wookiee back with a sheer shove of his lightsaber as soon as both blades locked with each other.

In another turn-around, Kyle pushed forth with Djem So. But realizing that he couldn't beat a Wookiee at strength since one was naturally stronger than a human, Jedi or not, Kyle decided to back away and change tactics. After all, a Jedi Master's greatest strength was the mind, not the body. Kyle let the Wookiee press the attack, only to jump right over him with an Ataru aerial somersault. "Makashi wouldn't work on him, he's using Shien. But..." Kyle thought to himself, then figured just what to use as he charged the Wookiee and gave him a Djem So slash. Just as the Wookiee Knight's blade touched it with his Shien defense, Kyle turned his lightsaber off. It appeared that Kyle was thrusting his deactivated blade toward the Wookiee in a Makashi jab, when he suddenly ignited it. Caught by surprise, the Wookiee Knight was caught in his shoulder, but it only burned him a bit. As it turned out, Kyle and the Wookiee Knight were only sparring with training lightsabers. Nevertheless, Kyle's opponent was soundly defeated by his own custom lightsaber form, Sha'trike, which combined elements of Makashi and Trakata for a nasty, precise surprise attack.

Kyle and the Wookiee Knight bowed to each other with respect, shook each other's hands. "Great job, Juun'rolk. No hard feelings, eh?" Kyle spoke. <"Certainly not, Master Landoran. I will improve on my lightsaber skills."> Jedi Knight Juun'rolk growled back and tapped his shoulder. "A Jedi's strength isn't physical, but mental and spiritual, Juun'rolk. Keep that in mind." Kyle replied with a smile. <"I will keep that in mind, Master Landoran. Thank you."> Juun'rolk replied, and the Wookiee walked away after putting his training lightsaber. Kyle then twitched his eyes as he felt the presence of someone he knew through the Force. He knew they were there all this time, but he paid them no mind as he was sparring with Junn'rolk. "I know you're there, kids. Can't hide from a Jedi Master, especially your Dad." Kyle spoke without even turning to see them, as he put away his own training lightsaber with only the Force. "Whoa, that was awesome, Dad." Zev spoke from behind. "Yeah, did you see how Dad was like this, and this, and this? That was soooo cool!" Wes added, trying his best to imitate his father's Shien and Djem So swings. Kyle turned around to see his son trying to imitate his moves, chuckling as he watched. "You'll learn how to do that later, that's Shien and Djem So. Tough stuff, so I suggest you to keep to Force training and Shii-Cho and Soresu for now." Kyle replied with a smile. "What that other move you did? You know, the one where you turn off your lightsaber then stab it?" Zev asked. "Heh, that's my own move, Zev. It's called Sha'trike, and it's one of my favorites." Kyle explained. "Because you made that up, Dad?" Wes asked. "Of course, Wes. When you master a few lightsaber forms, you can mix them up into your own personal styles. But that's enough on lightsaber forms, you kids go and do some Force training now." Kyle replied, sounding like the father that he was.

Kyle also knew what Zev and Wes were here for, they wanted to do lightsaber sparring with each other. They already learned velocities and the other basics, and now they were onto learning their first technique, Shii-Cho. He was really proud of his sons, because they would grow up to become a strong and respected Jedi like he was. "Dad, can we spar? Please?" Zev asked. "Yeah, Dad, please?" Wes added. Kyle looked up a bit, he was their father, but he was also a Jedi Master. Letting them spar wouldn't look good for him in terms of his authority, so there was only one thing he could do. "Kids, after the Force exercises, OK? I'll watch you two spar if you want, alright?" Kyle persuaded. The junior Landoran Twins managed to pick up Kyle's emotions already and his dilemma, and they decided to listen to their father. "Alright Dad. You're gonna watch us, right?" Wes asked. "Yeah, I will, you guys. Now, go on, kids." Kyle responded assuringly with a nod, and with that, his two sons left to do their Force exercise. "See ya, Dad." Zev spoke as they both disappeared from sight.

"Yep, that's my life. A father, brother, husband, and a Jedi Master. Welcome to the life of Kyle Landoran." Kyle thought to himself with a smile, as he watched his sons go.

Outside of the Praxeum temple, The Wookiee Jedi Master Rokkwaroo stood with his Padawan observing 2 very large boulders. Rokky stood head and shoulders over Sera Ar-El in his green Jedi Tunic with brown boots and a brown Jedi Robe over it all. Rokky liked wearing green and brown, they reminded him of the giant wroshyr trees back on his homeplanet of Kashyyyk. Though he could speak basic because of a speech impediment, Rokky nevertheless spoke in his native Shriiwook language. <"I think you are ready to start with boulders now Sera. There is a reason I moved you from pebbles to boulders - it's because size really doesn't matter. If you can move a pebble, you can move a boulder.">

Sera glanced up over her shoulder at her Master and raised a brow. She was a bit skeptical. Even after ten years with her Master, Sera still felt as though she weren’t really grasping her abilities in the Force well enough yet. Her blue-eyed gaze went from unsure to a rather determined look all in one swift motion of change as she then nodded in agreement and looked to the boulders set upon the ground alongside one another. “Right. Size doesn’t matter.” With that said, Sera focused upon the boulder to her left.

Rokky stood with his arms tucked into the other sleeve infront of him. Back when he was fighting the Yuuzhan Vong War, he was so brash. And while he's still rather tender in age, a lot of maturity came - especially after the way Gavriel died. It showed that being reckless will get one killed. Rokky took a breath openly and pushed the thoughts away, turning it back to Sera. <"Remember, a Jedi feels the Force flowing through them. Use it make contact with the Force around the boulder. Have faith in your abilities, and the rest will follow your will.">

[I]Feel the Force flowing through, use it, make contact with the Force. Faith in my abilities.[I] Sera closed her eyes in a gentle manner that would suggest from an outward appearance that she was falling asleep upon her feet. Seeing as how this was not a mission but a training exercise, Sera had opted not to wear the traditional brown Jedi robe and wore only her black light weight leather Jedi garb and overcoat. Concentrating , Sera consciously lifted her left arm up so it was parallel with the ground and turned her palm face out towards the boulder. Feel the Force.

<"Yes . . . now, stretch out. It's very easy to get preoccupied with trying to do it that one can overlook the simple act of doing.">

Nodding quietly in a small tip of her head, Sera’s breath slowed to a deep even pace that flowed freely in and out through her nose in a quiet whisper. Every muscle in her body started to relax while her arm still remained outstretched towards the boulder as if in gesture to touch it. Her mind focused upon one thing, the Force that flowed out and around the boulder like a ring that outlined its being. Her closed lids started to flutter just slightly at the lashes as Sera focused and stretched herself out to make contact with the Force. Faith in my abilities. She wanted the boulder to move, move just in the slightest, an inch off the ground or even an inch forward towards her. With eyes closed, the only way Sera knew what she was doing came by sound alone, and the sound of groaning stone caused her eyes to slowly part and peer out to the object she willed to move.

Rokky smiled and nodded to himself as he watched this happen. <"Good, don't think of how hard it is to keep in contact. Immerse yourself in what your brain says is impossible."> The boulder moved a foot this time and then slowed. <"Concentrate, don't lose your focus Sera!"> Rokky encouraged her with a smile apparent in his tone.

Sera stared at the boulder that she had pulled forward towards herself a good foot in distance, but then it seemed to slow in its trail. Master Rokky’s words caused Sera to focus further. The smile she sensed in his tone of voice brought about a new sense of determination and renewed belief that she could do this. Her vivid electrum blue eyes stared intently upon the large boulder as she continued to stretch herself out to the Force and make contact with it. Immerse yourself in what your brain says is, The boulder then lifted off the ground, small streams of loose dirt and sand falling from the bottom of the rock as it had come up off the ground a good ten inches. Impossible. A small smile tugged at the corners of Sera’s mouth, but she fought to it from appearing and not to become to cocky in the small feet she had just managed to accomplish.

Rokky then reached out and with a gesture guided the boulder down. <"Very good, and you can be happy for your growth. You have taken a very big step today. Now I want to you go go back to meditation, think back on how you almost became arrogant in this. Analyze it, and understand it. When you understand how it works, it's hold is broken."> Watching the boulder touch back down upon the earth, she glanced over and up at her Master who towered over her even as she stood at six foot tall even. She knew he was right, she had felt herself start to grow arrogant in her accomplishments, and knew what could come of this is not brought under discipline through meditation. Sighing inwardly to herself in a quiet manner, Sera gave her Master a small smile that showed her own self-disappointment in her near arrogance. “Yes my Master.” She replied while turning her entire frame towards him and then bowed in a respectful manner.

"I will join you. Even a Master needs his meditation." Rokky spoke in basic. Though it was still mostly growls, the syllables and vowels could still be made out. He put a huge arm around Sera and smiled widely as they walked back towards the Academy building. "I am very proud of you nevertheless Sera. More than ever I believe this was the right course for you." he said in basic again. “Thank you Master.” Sera replied while walking alongside the Wookie, her long legs having to nearly double their efforts a bit in order to keep pace with her Master. “I am thankful you found me when you did after the war.” She glanced up at her Master as she said this with a ghost of a grin upon her face. “No doubt I have been a handful for you in my childhood and maybe even now.”

"Yes...you have been." Rokky stopped and looked down at her, a "matter-of-fact" tone in his voice. "You've made me feel older than I already am at times and when I see a gray hair start I always think there are more to come. You can be a spiteful, arrogant, and headstrong Padawan a lot of the time Sera..." Rokky's features then softened. "But you have also taught me a lot of things I wouldn't have learned without you. You have wisdom, you have insight, and you are a better Jedi than I could ask for. Your willingness to learn and try new things inspires me to this day. The Force is strong with you indeed." Rokky pulled her into a big Wookiee hug. "I am very proud of you." Sera was a bit caught off guard as Rokky grabbed her in a giant hug that pulled her in and smothered her. The scent of wool and Rokky’s fur assaulted Sera’s sense of smell. A small grin crossed her face as peered up at her Master. “Good to know that even I can teach a Jedi Master something. However, not that I dislike your fatherly affections such as these, my lack of breathing has become imminent.” Sera managed to squeak out in a small gasp.

Rokky smiled as he let her go then they both walked back into the doors of the Jedi Academy on Ossus. The atmosphere had been cooling off from the supernova millenia ago during the Sith War, part of the cooling off process were storms that could become very fierce. And the sky was shaping up the clouds for one of these storms. Yet it did little to dampen the spirit of joy in the Jedi Academy.

    Always Trying, Never Learning

Kasan Moor-Landoran sat on the floor in her living room in the home, she, Kyle and their sons lived in on Coruscant. She was meditating, as best she could, trying in her own small way to hone in on her individual Jedi power. She had her hands setting on her bare knees, her green cargo shorts riding slightly up her thighs as she sat there with her eyes closed. Her long brown hair hung straight down her back as the woman breathed deeply in and out. She’d been quiet, in this state since earlier that morning, after the boys had all gone. Kyle knew why she waited, she still, after all these years was uncomfortable with her found abilities. No where near as strong as her husband, or her sons, Kasan could only perform simple tasks like moving small objects and picking up on other’s feelings and thought images.

Shortly after his talk with his sons, Kyle decided to go back to his home to check on his wife. As of late, Kasan had been working on improving her strength in the Force. Unfortunately, she made only a little headway. "But with patience, she will learn to master it. Alex used to have the same problem. Just gotta use the same advice Kali used." Kyle thought to himself as he stopped right up at the door and opened. As anticipated, Kasan was attempting to hone her strength in the Force, but as expected, with little result. "Hey, Kas, training hard as always, hon?" Kyle asked. She huffed slightly and opened her eyes, looking up towards him from the floor. With a slight frustration in her eyes, she said, “Yes, as always… But… It seems like I haven’t made any progress. I haven’t gotten any further then I was ten years ago. Every time I try to reach out too far, all I get is a grey haze or it feels like someone’s thrown a wet blanket over my head.”

Kyle shook his head and snickered, now he believed was the time to tell Kasan that she was doing it the wrong way. Not that it was easy, telling your wife she had been doing it the wrong way was never easy. Then again, Kyle was a Jedi Master. "Kas, I hate to break this to ya, but you'd been doing it the wrong way. Do or do not, there's no try, said a wise Jedi called Yoda." Kyle said, then waited for Kasan's response. She threw him a dirty look and stood from the floor, her wild temper flaring slightly as he laughed. Walking away from him, she braced her hands on a window sill and looked out as she shrugged and said, “It’s no big deal. It’s not like I’m a Jedi or anything.” However, in her heart, it did heart a great deal that she couldn’t figure it out. The dark haired woman just stared out over the city, sighing out, in frustration.

Kyle watched as Kasan stood up in a fit of slight temper whilst walking away from him. Seeing her look out at the window outside the rainy cityscape of Coruscant, Kyle came up to her. He could already sense the frustration in her, this must be corrected. Frustration shouldn't be part of learning how to use the Force. "Kas, you really feel like the weather outside." Kyle teased as he stood next to her. "Frustration shouldn't be part of learning how to use the Force, Kas. One must have a clear mind in order to open oneself up to the Force. Only then, can one truly harness the Force. I know you'd tried your best, but don't try. To try is to fail, Master Luke once told me that. If you want to do it, do it. But there is another thing to this." Kyle continued, then paused to let his wife digest all of this before he went on. Sighing out, she merely said, “How am I like the weather Kyle? How am I like all this rain?”

Kyle chuckled, it was just a joke, but one which contained a greater meaning in regards to the Force. "That was just a joke, hon, you know? When you feel upset, it feels kinda like a bad weather. But a joke that has a deeper meaning behind it, especially in understanding the Force. The Force flows all around you, like a river." Kyle said, pointing a finger to a particular drop of rain that was flowing down the surface of the window on the other side, following it flawlessly with the aid of the Force. "Yes, think of it as a river, Kas. It flows all around you, to understand how deep a river is, you must immerse yourself into it. Likewise, to understand the Force, you must immerse your mind into it." Kyle said, sounding like Kasan's Jedi Master. Sighing out, she turned her head away, signifying she didn’t want to talk about it anymore. Making a noise in her throat, she looked up at him and said, “How are the boys coming along?”

Kyle sensed impatience in Kasan's emotions, another thing which must be fixed if she wanted to know how to use the Force properly. However, Kyle also knew, from his experience as a Jedi Master, that he must also be patient with Kasan in order to truly teach her patience. After all, how can one teach another patience without showing it? "The boys are fine, they are already doing Shii-Cho in lightsaber forms." Kyle replied in regards to the progress of their sons. “Good. Maybe, someday, they’ll be as great as their father.” She looked over towards him a moment and smiled slightly. Tilting her head, she moved and put her arms, under his, around his back and looked up at him, “I may have little patience with this whole Jedi deal, but that gives no means on how I feel about you. Got it?”

Kyle smiled at Kasan's comment, all the more to make them both proud of their sons. Being parents was something that the Landoran couples found to be a new and rewarding experience. He smiled even wider when Kasan embraced him, reassuring that her impatience for the ways of the Jedi had no bearing on her love for him. "Yes, Lieutenant." Kyle said and chuckled, calling her by her rank back in Rogue Squadron. Again, it was just a joke. "I guess I can teach you more about this 'whole Jedi deal' later. After all, I can't teach you patience without showing it myself, can't I?" he added. Kasan shook her head, “Nope, and I’m going to Ossus later to meet with Kali and check on the other place over there.”

Kyle moved back a bit at the mention of Kali, he hadn't seen her for a long time. "You mind if I come with you? Or do you just want to see Kali alone?" Kyle asked. She laughed, “We’ll be doing a bunch of girly stuff. I thought you’d just stay here with the boys anyways, but if you want to come along, I don’t see why you couldn’t.” Kyle thought about it for a bit, remembering that he promised Zev and Wes to watch them spar after they were done with their Force training. "Well, when are you going to go? Because I promised the boys I'd watch them spar after they done Force training, just to sucker those little brats into doing it. But I gotta hold my end of the promise, ya know?" Kyle replied. “I’ll be going soon… Not sure when, just soon. Go watch the boys, they love it when you do. I’ll be along tonight some time.” She stood on her toes and kissed him lightly for a moment before backing off and looking at him. "Ok, I'll go then." Kyle replied, after Kasan kissed him lightly, he returned the favor. "Bye, Kas. See you later. I love you." he added, then left the door. "My life for those little brats..." Kyle grumbled in a humorous manner as he walked out. Kasan smiled as he left, then, turning rounded up a few things and headed out the same door, heading for the port, to take off for Ossus to see Kali.

    Establishment

"Well it's not like I meant to do it. The damn thing just flung across the room!"

"Xan, look at me. Hey. Hey!"

    "What!"

    "Look at me!"

    "I am looking at you!"

"Does it look.. Like I care?"

    I chuckled. "No."

"Exactly. So let me just vent my anger out on you and it'll be over."

    "Okay! Fine! Vent your anger!"

Vosk laid a nice fist into my stomach, winding me slightly. I dropped crunched down and held onto my stomach, letting out a slight "Oof" before I stood back upright and stared blankly into Vosk, sighing deeply. "Can we get back to work now?"

    "Yes."

Vosk and I continued to unload the ship and wheeled them into the new warehouse the boss bought. The boss wanted to expand. During the Yuuzhan Vong war, the Hutts from Nar Shaddaa had to flee, and in the end, the whole moon was destroyed. And the Hutts moved to Tatooine. We established bases in Tatooine, Ando Prime, Naboo, and Corellia. But it's the nature of the Hutts to never be happy, so we, being Vosk, myself, went alongside with a few others, bought a busted up ex-club in Coruscant, and began establishing a base of operations.

The club is located in the midst of surrounding clubs, practically in the middle of the big city. It burned down due to some shifty business happening, and a few of our 'diplomats' were sent in to take the place off their hands for a small price. With that, the boss sent us here, and we've begun to move in some tools and whatnot into the building, and we're going to tear the place apart.

You may be questioning as to what happened before between Vosk and myself. Well, this is the story. I was welding a metal sheet in the Manowar, and Vosk was nearby, and one of the sparks just happened hit him in the eye, which hurt the poor girl, so I let him hit me. We vent our anger on one another a whole lot. Even at small things. It helps keep us strong and ready just in case we get into a fight. Yeah, you may think it's weird, but it's something Vosk came up with, and it does help to be honest.

So anyways, as I was saying, we're going to tear the whole place apart, re-build the place, fix it up, and the boss will be making his way to Coruscant after it's all done. We've employed some building droids to help us with the construction of the place, and some smart guys have been doing some clever marketing around the city, talking up how the new place is going to be the best club in Coruscant's history. For once the Clans of the Ancients haven't forced people into liking them, instead, they're going for the new approach.

We've even bought a warehouse in the warehouse sector to store our 'goods'. And in the Manowar were a large number of illegal weaponry that our boss wanted to store in the warehouse, and it was crazy having the ship in the middle of a public place, however, at least it didn't look suss. The authorities kept circling the burned down place as well as my ship, keeping away the people from the construction. But it's not as if we didn't put up signs or anything saying: "WARNING: CONSTRUCTION IN PROGRESS" or anything like that. There were countless signs around! And we've put small barricades around the area to keep people away. But then again, you can't be too careful on a night like this with all the drunkards out there wandering the streets. It was quite comical I must say.

After we offloaded all the construction equipment and let the construction droids do their work, Vosk, myself, and a couple of other goons went into the Manowar and made way to the warehouse sector. It was only a ten minute flight, and we got to the basically deserted warehouse sector where a few junkies lived, landed behind said warehouse, and began offloading our 'goods' that were marked in steel crates that had the sign "CAUTION: HOLO-TECHNOLOGY INSIDE" on them. After all that was done, we hid the dodgy crates underneath a few empty ones, then made way back for the Manowar.

Vosk set the co-ordinates for Tatooine and started up the ship. Within a minute, the ship took off, out of Coruscant, and we made our jump into Hyperspace. "I think we should grab a drink!" Vosk exclaimed, pulling out four shot glasses and a bottle of some homemade whiskey. "To the Clans of the Ancients!"

The other two goons raised their glasses, as did I, and we all said "To the Clans of the Ancients!" together, then took our shots. I hissed at the burning affect the whiskey gave off, then licked my mouth and asked for another. Vosk poured me another drink and this time I sat back and took the shot, hissing once more, and slamming the glass down onto the table.

We were making way for Tatooine where our boss was currently visiting to see how business was going. The boss liked to check out different business locations regularly and find out everything that was going on. The profits. Losses. How our pod racers were going. What problems there have been. And the rest. The boss told us that once Vosk and I return to Tatooine that we'd be given a new smuggling mission, and we'd be paid 100,000 credits each for the success of the mission. Vosk and I were both excited to get back to Tatooine to find out what would be handed to us.

How to Balance Work and Duty

In most cases, Jedi Knights and masters are seen passing the teachings onto the next generation of Jedi, however, there is that occasion where a Jedi is more interested in un-earthing more of the Order's history.

Sat at a desk at the family home on Corellia, Gabriel was researching field notes on past expedtitions to Ossus, he knew that there was an old Library facility that spanned a few hundred feet underground, but was certain there was more to the library than the Alliance had found.

Some of the data Gabriel was reading was very old and barley readable, havign to put onb a pair of reading glasses to help him in figuring out what some of words said
"Hmm." Gabriel thought, as if discovering something "If these notes are right, there were more rooms to the library facility, each of them connected by ajoining corridors and tunnels that branched off further benieth the planet's surface." Looking up from the datapad, Gabriel felt compelled to jump from the chair, fly to Ossus and get started right away... however he was still a Jedi, and a Praxeum had been established on Ossus a few years ago. Meaning he would have to clear any request to look for the hidden library facilities through means of archeology with the residing Jedi Council. But in the meantime, there were still other planets that held a wealth of Jedi Knowledge.

But despite his good will to the Order in discovering anything else that was lost during the Clone Wars and Palpatines Imperial rule, his Jedi training came first. He had to learn the mroe 'Corellian' side of him since he had discovered it a decade previous. Taking off his reading glasses and reachign for a datapad, Gabriel started reading it, the datapad was listed wit hinfromation about the 'Niman' Saber style, a style Gabriel had been studying and training in for a few months now. Reading where he had last gotten to the last tiem he trained, Gabriel knew where to begin for today.
Placing the pad back down on the table, Gabriel extended a hand to his bedroom shelf, pulling into his hand his Lightsabers, placing one on his belt and holding the other ine firmly in his hand. Over the last year or 2, Gabriel ahd been re-adjsuting his Saber Skills to accomodate jsut the one Sabre, something he was uncomfortable with at first, but he's been getting used to it.

Since Gabriel had come home, he had renovated the spare room into his personal training room, both for meditation and Sabre practice. Stepping into the middle of the room, Gabriel assomed the Niman Stance ans ignighted his Lightsabre. Seeign as he had no training driods, Gabriel had to do the next best thing and imagine the opponent and all possible moved he could pull whilst Gabriel assume a Niman posture. After a few moment of centering himself, Gabriel resumed his Niman Training, rememebring everything he had learned on Niman:

"The Niman lightsabre technique is a less demanding form, incorperating aspects of the forms: Shii-cho, Soresu, Ataru and Djem So. Balancing them into well incorperated style.

Niman's main purpose is for diplmatic solutions, leaving whomever used it time to focus on other aspects of Jedi Training. But despite any forseeable drawback, Niman is also the learning stepping stone for the Dual Saber Style Jar'Kai. No Jedi that has ever learnt Jar'Kai has learnt Niman prior to Training."

Finising with a high guard, followed by what appeared to be a dis-arming blow. Gabriel felt liek that was enough for today, extinguishing the Lightsabre and putting it back on his belt with the other Sabre.
Feelign as he had done enoug Sabre Training for today, Gabriel pulled a town over to him and started wipign any sweat that may have presented itself when he was training with his Lightsabre. Flinging the towl across the back of his neck, Gabriel left to room and decided to go get washed.

Younglings sat in a semi circle around the edge of the circular meditation room, the room open to the elements was more a covered balcony then a room, looking out over the extended temple complex below. Seated on round meditation stools, each youngling had a small stone in front of them, taken from the temples surrounding gardens and forests; with their eyes closed they concentrated on their stones.

Master Sorcha Umbrae, slowly scanned over each of her students, hands folded in side the arms of her black outer robe, her wast length black deadlocked hair shifted slightly as a breeze picked up, “Feel the force, let it speak to you, tell you how to lift the stone. It is connected to the force the same as you.” She spoke in a low tone, dark grey eyes shifting from one trembling stone to another, as each slowly rose in the air.

A squeal of delight escaped from the lips of one of the younglings, breaking the concentration of the others, the clattering sound of stones hitting the floor masked the youngling’s apologise to the class. Slowly raising from her meditation stool the youngling sheepishly walked to the centre of the room stopping before Sorcha. “Master, I-I’m sorry, I made everyone drop their stones.” Voice barely above a whisper, her eyes studied her boots.

Sorcha kneeled down, so she could be eye to eye with the youngling, putting her hands on each of the younglings shoulders, she smiled, “Don’t be sorry, what has happened has happened…” taking one hand from the youngling shoulder, Sorcha reached out with the force, calling the students stone to her hand. It flew past the others heads towards the rooms centre, stopping a few inches above her hand before it dropped. Leaning back on her heels, she placed the stone in the youngling’s hands, rising to her full hight, she stepped back as the girl raised her face up to look at the Master before her.

“ What can be done once can be done again, trust the force, do not let your feeling cloud you mind,” moving around the girl she riffled her hair making the younglings face brighten as she glancing around at the rest of the class and raised her voice, “Remember the feeing you felt as the force flowed through you, the stone is small, you are big, but even the big need a rest,” she smiled, “and that’s enough for today.”

Watching as the last of the younglings left the room, Sorcha turned and walked towards the open end of the room, resting her hands on the half wall, leaning out past the partition to look out over the complex below. The wind picked up, flinging her robe open and fluttering out behind her, revealing the dark purple and black tunic beneath, closing her eyes, Sorcha reached out with her mind and felt the force enclose around her.

The staccato sounds of fists, elbows, and knees striking the heavy bag filled the cargo hold of the Wandering Storm. The leather cylinder filled with sand from his homeworld of Iridonia danced under his ministrations, straining against the chain from which it was suspended. Before he had been a Jedi, Kahj had been a soldier for some fifteen years, a member of an elite commando unit during the Rebellion against the Empire. He appreciated the value of keeping his training up in all the many levels of combat. His hands and feet moved in a blur as he continued his work out. As deadly a swordsman as he was, he was just as dangerous unarmed.

He heard the door to the cargo bay open, and sensed immediately it was Besk Dza’Syk, once his padawan, now his treasured friend. He gave the bag one final punch and drew in deep breaths, re-oxygenating his system. Besk leaned casually against the wall, “Blowing off some steam?”

“Something like that,” Kahj said as he reached for a towel.

“The Council meeting was…a little more intense than usual,” Besk said tactfully.

The Zabrak snorted, “I suppose so. Like I told Masters Hamner and Skywalker, I don’t care much for politics…and the Coruscant Council is largely about politics.”

“I told you I should have been the one to debrief them,” Besk shrugged. “I’m a Bothan…politics is second nature to us.”

Kahj dabbed at the sweat on his forehead and chest, “Not that I don’t appreciate the offer, but I think they wanted to hear it from me.” He stretched, his muscles straining and his joints popping. “They have a right to be concerned, I suppose. There was a lot on the line on the Ryloth mission.” He was sure neither the Senators nor Jedi on the Coruscant council were completely pleased with the outcome or methods used to achieve them.

The ivory furred Bothan gave his once master a genuine smile, “Hey, don’t worry about it. We did the right thing on Ryloth. We did the good thing. We made a difference.”

Kahj grinned as he walked to the doorway, “Right…Besk Dza’Syk, the idealist.”

    “Of course!”

“And the gratitude of that Twi’lek minister? Sinya was her name I think?”

Besk gave him a look of shock, “A fringe benefit only.”

Kahj nodded as he reached his room, “I’ll be in the shower, let me know when we hit Ossus.”

The Zabrak Jedi walked onto the bridge of the Wandering Storm. Besk turned in the co-pilot’s chair, his feet on the control panel, “We’re only a few minutes outside of Ossus.”

He nodded, “Get out of my chair, fuzz-butt.”

Besk grinned and stood up, moving over to the observer’s chair. Poko, the pilot, was dozing away in the pilot’s chair. Poko was a Kiwonik, an otter-like aquatic mammal about one hundred ten centimeters tall. Besk kicked the pilot’s chair, spinning it around and waking the diminutive creature. Poko hissed and bared his teeth at the Bothan, Mahal sapessu!

“Watch your language, Poko,” Kahj scolded.

“I’ve been traveling with you for more than ten years, and I still don’t understand a thing he says…” Besk admitted.

“Honestly, you don’t want to know,” Kahj said. “Kiwonikwokonol is a very complicated language with many levels of meaning. I’m the only one I know of who understands any of it…” He pondered for a moment. “Of course, most people just don’t care to.”

Poko stuck his tongue out at the Zabrak and said, Peciyawolotuwok Ossus malom.

Kahj nodded and translated for Besk, “We’re here.”

The ancient Republic blockade runner dropped out of hyperspace over the planet Ossus. The pilot fiddled with the sensors for a moment and made a sour face, Tutamoquessu.

Besk looked over his shoulder, “Wow…that’s a big storm,” The sensors were showing a huge, swirling windstorm over a good portion of the southern hemisphere of Ossus. “Of course, it has to be plopped right near the Academy.”

“Fate just wants to make sure our lives don’t get boring.” Kahj said, leaning back.

As Poko guided the ship into the atmosphere and around the large storm, Besk asked, “So do you plan on reporting to the rest of the Ossus council?”

“Eventually.” Kahj closed his eyes and tried to release some of the tension that was building in him. Kahj himself was a member of the Ossus council, along with Kali Tal’Set, Dane Derragon, and Sorcha Umbrae. He had been nominated by Kenth Hamner several years ago, when the council was formed to handle local issues among the Jedi.

The deals he brokered between the Hutts and the Twi’Lek’s over labor contracts on Ryloth had financial repercussions throughout the Outer Rim. He had taken considerable heat from the Senators over it, and from the Jedi over his “aggressive” negotiation methods. During the time of the Empire, slavery had been officially re-instituted on Ryloth, and the Hutts had controlled the flow of Twi’lek slaves. With the return of the Republic, the operation had been shut down, but the wily Hutts weren’t about to give up their lucrative trade that easily. Through guile, they had gained control of the labor unions and used them to enforce a virtual slave trade through punitive contracts, indentured servitude, and similar tactics.

Several union members had petitioned the Galactic Alliance for assistance, so Besk and Kahj had been sent to negotiate a solution. The Hutts had been…reluctant, to say the least…and had taken considerable “persuasion”.

He would have to debrief the council on his mission, but it could wait. Not that he thought the Ossus council would be as critical of his mission as the Coruscant council had been. The Ossus council wasn’t at all concerned with the financial and political implications. Besk nodded slowly, “Perhaps it would be best to visit with just one member of the council first.”

Kahj glanced back at Besk, “It’s like you read my mind…”

The Zabrak strolled off the ramp and onto the damp soil of Ossus. The wind was gusting at nearly fifty kilometers an hour, which made him feel as though he were back on Iridonia. He was coming home. At least as close to any sort of home he had. Wherever Kali and Arwen were, that was home, now.

Poko bounded past them, Puktewick naka pilsqehsis.”

Besk squinted in the wind, as they walked, watching the Kiwonik, “What did he say?”

Kahj raised an eyebrow, “Roughly translated, it means Ale and whores.

“I think he’s going to be disappointed,” Besk laughed.

They walked through the small settlement that had sprung up around the new Jedi Academy. Younglings were running to and fro, enjoying the turbulent weather. Kahj enjoyed the wind whipping over him, rippling his deep yellow shirt and black, blousy pants. In his hands was a half cubic meter box wrapped in gold foil. The distant memories of his childhood on Iridonia momentarily distracting him from the pressures of the day. He walked guided completely subconsciously to her apartment. To their apartment. Though when away he always longed to return, when he was here it always caused him pain. Given the choice of the pain, or the emptiness when he was away...the choice was clear. Outside the apartment door, he hesitated a moment, as he always did, then pressed the doorbell.

The bickering of the younglings was silenced as Master Darkon sat in front of the semi circle of those potientals of the force. A smile placed on his face as he looked around the courtyard. More willing Younglings and padawans began to move closer to the circle. The older ones would stand in the back and allow the younger students in front and sitting. As oppose to sitting a chair. Jaer crossed his legs while standing and smoothly glided to the floor.

"I'm sure you are all excited for todays history lesson."

Jaer said smiling and looking around the group, getting names and faces of those in front of him. A concensus of head shakings and yes' were all that followed his words. Jaer's smile somewhat disappeared.

"Then your first lesson will be that there is no excitement. A Jedi knows what is before him and should remain patient while waiting for it."

He said quickly as the smiles of the younglings disappeared and Jaer cleared his throat.

"It seems to me, that old knowledge is far more inferior to current knowledge. Knowing what has recently happened. I beleive that this is, however, incorrect. To know everything one may know about the past is the most vital thing any of you may ever learn. To never make the same mistake that those who have preceeded you have done.

Jaer said looking around the group as they all seemed concentrated at his words.

"I shall tell you of the great Jedi and Sith Lord, Revan. He lived 20,000 years ago, though his timeline of life is a little off due to the destruction of most Jedi Archieves. The time is not important, but only the setting in which the story takes place. This was a time of the Old Republic. Revan was a Jedi Knight, one of the strongest of his age some would say. Some would also say that his skill exceeded that of Master Skywalker. As both were the only Jedi in history to ever had a Sith'ari prophecy concerning them. But that is another tale. For Revan was not ambitious, but very caring in his ways. Thus was his downfall it could be said. While being a Jedi Knight, he was accompanied by his best friend and companion, Malak. When the Mandalorian wars began and innocent worlds slaughtered at the Mandalore clans. Revan and Malak went against the Jedi Council's will and aided the Republic. The war was a lost caused until Revan and many other Jedi joined in the war effort, also one of note is the Exile. His name has been forgotten, but he will play a key role in the story. Again, another time and place."

Jaer said as he shifted slightly and kept on with his tale, now he had them intrigued.

"During the war, Revan and the Republic won battle after battle. Until the war was finally over and the Republic victorious. Instead of Revan returning to the Republic, he, Malak and many other Jedi along with his fleet vanished. It is said that the discovered an Ancient Sith Planet and began the teachings of the Dark Side. This lead to the reign of Darth Revan..."

Jaer was cut off as he glanced to his left and saw a female Jedi moving towards him. She came to his eat and whispered into it.

"The Wild Knights have been located on Ando Prime."

Jaer looked at his graciously and smiled. He turned to the younglings who were now more intrigued than ever. He would have to disappoint them.

"I am sorry, my younglings, but I have a mission that I must take care of. I promise upon my return, that we will finish our little story. Good day and may the force be with you."

Jaer said as he stood up quickly and moved towards the door leading into the complex. As he moved down the corridors, his usual nod was now taken with haste. He had been tracking the Wild Knights for quite some time. They had been a big part of the space battles with Yuuzhan Vong and were now wanted in the Alliance it would seem.

Jaer was now in his room, the only thing he would grab was his large black cloak. Twirling it around him and sliding his arms through the sleeve holes and he immediately began moving towards the hangar, where his small Star Fighter was being prepped for launch.

    Many Tidings

The Gamma-Class Galactic Republic Shuttle "Mercury" streaked out of hyperspace in orbit above Ossus. The captain of the shuttle, an Ithorian known simply as "Drix" had been quite a peaceful voice, and presence to the Jedi Master who flew with him.

Jedi Master Dane Derragon had just come back from settling a dispute about exactly what planet on the Outer Rim the Helmanian people were trying to settle and colonize. They had chosen a world that held the yellow topsoil the Helmanian culture depended on in order to make their Porska resin. This very rich resin was used by many of their neighboring worlds in the production of a rubber-like material that was good for the production of a number of different goods. When the Helmanians returned from the refuge world of Kamar in the Corporate Sector, they believed they had found their homeworld left in one piece after the Yuuzhan Vong had taken it over.

After years of clearing through the legal red tape and taking air samples to make sure the planet was hospitable with breathable air, the Helmanians had started to move back to the world. The only problem was that the Orkassian refugees had moved in first claiming it was their planet. They valued the yellow topsoil because of the high nutrient content their beasts of burden required. The topsoil and even the beasts weren't the main factor, it was the waste generated by the animals the Orkassian people depended on for other materials.

All of this, and neither race could really prove that the planet in question belonged to either race. The Yuuzhan Vong had shown they could use their dovin basals to generate enough gravity to move a planet from one location to another. They had done that with Coruscant, moving the generally cold planet a little closer to it's sun. So the yellow planet could very well have been Helman Prime, or the planet Orkas. The Jedi Council had been contacted for help settling this dispute and the Jedi High Council then contacted the Low Council on Ossus, believing Dane to be the right Jedi for the job. Dane had arrived nearly 2 weeks ago and conducted extensive tests and negotiations the entire time. Some of the negotiations came close to becoming aggressive in nature, but in the end both refugees were able to settle the planet. It had cost Dane a tunic top and a lot of clean up time after digging through the animal waste, but eventually an agreement was made after the animal waste left by the Orkassian beasts was found to actually refine the yellow soil's properties making it valuable for both refugees to work together. He had even managed to convince the Corporate Sector to conduct searches for the other missing yellow planet since this new deal between the Orkassians and Helmanians would be quite profitable for the Sector should another planet be found with the same topsoil they required.

The door to the cockpit hissed open and in walked the Jedi Master himself, in a new tanned tunic top, dark brown pants, black boots and a black Jedi robe over it all. Dane's bangs and hair on the top of his head was pulled into a tail as the hair under it all hung free over his shoulders. It was long and dark brown with wisps of gray. His usual hairstyle, and the usual colors. He found them simplistic enough to be recognized as a Jedi and they were colors he and Bebby favored on him anyway. Looking out the viewport to the planet below Dane took a seat in the copilot's seat next to the Ithorian. "Hmmm, that storm looks serious Drix." "Enough to slow me down." Drix replied back loudly. Ithorians had 4 throats so their natural tone was a bit deeper and well above what most would consider normal. Dane took it in stride. He looked down at the control board in front of him absentmindedly and smiled. "I'm sure." Drix had shown himself to be quite skilled as a pilot and Dane knew more than likely this storm would offer no new challenges that Drix hadn't faced before.

"Hit that switch over there." Drix motioned to the far right of the control board and Dane pushed the switch down. A soft whirrrrrrrrrr could be heard as the two central wings collapsed inward shortening the overall size of it by half. The shuttle now looked more like the Theta-Class Shuttle the Empire used before the Lambda-Class was introduced. The reduced top size allowed for better turns and stability. After the lock engaged keeping the topside wings down, Drix accelerated the craft towards Ossus. Sure enough in a matter of minutes, the Gamma-Class Shuttle "Mercury" was lowering it's landing ramp onto the duracrete pad. Dane stepped down from the pad with his hood raised over his head and the robe held tight around him as the wind and rain lashed about. He lifted his arm to wave his new friend off as the craft lifted up and off back into the storm and out of the atmosphere. Turning back toward the Academy, he walked towards it until the transparent double doors opened up welcoming him inside.

A shiny silver protocol droid welcomed him. It's soft monotone male voice greeting him like an old friend. "Welcome to the Jedi Academy Master Derragon, I am PD-14. Can I take your robe for you?" "No thanks, I actually need you to see if you can locate Master Bebby for me. I need to make contact with the old folk's home on Coruscant and let the GA know a deal has been reached in the Orkassian/Helmanian dispute. Tell her I will be in the Comstation Relay Room." "Certainly sir." The chrome plated droid bowed at the waist then turned to go fulfill it's directive.

Minutes later Dane was sitting in front of the holocom with an image of the Jedi High Council, which was oddly filled with only Jedi instead of the usual Jedi and Senator congregation in front of him. "...I also have assurances they will contact the Galactic Alliance next week to petition for aid in setting up a planetary government." "Very good Master Derragon." spoke a large Whipid Jedi seated next to Luke Skywalker in the Jedi Council holo. "Forgive me masters, but I only see Jedi seated on the council, is there a special session of congress underway?" "No," spoke up Luke Skywalker. "It has been decided that the Jedi High Council is now made up exclusively of Jedi Masters. The Senators agreed readily since their attention is required almost full time in the Senate. It . . . was also agreed that it was not the Jedi's place to decide policy for the galaxy." Dane nodded his head in understanding, this was quite a surprise but one he welcomed. "I must agree, our mandate is to serve the Force. The Chiss/Killik Border War proved that what's good for the Galactic Alliance is not always good for the Jedi." "Indeed, thus the High Council is now made up of Jedi exclusively. I will report the success of your mission to the Chief of State personally, I was going to head there on other business after this meeting is adjourned."

Other business? Dane thought to himself. "I sense this other business involves the coming Ambassador from the Sith Planetary Coalition..." A few heads on the council moved as looks were exchanged. Luke however only nodded. "Yes, this new Coalition is disturbing to say the least. We were unaware the planets even had governments in place, let alone them being united under a common banner." "But at the same time we don't make many trips to the worlds of the ancient Sith Empire." "Which may have been the problem all along." spoke up Jedi Master Kyp Durron. "We've known those planets were teeming with Dark Side energy for years. Yet nothing has been done to go and assess the situation." "Yet in all fairness with the Yuuzhan Vong invasion and the Chiss/Killik Border war, we've hardly had the time, resources, or Jedi to commit to such a task." Spoke up another Jedi Master, this one a female Neimoidian from Duro named Kula Vaan. Kyp turned to her and looked into her pink eyes. "What are we doing now? If this Ambassador is what we all are worried about he or she being, then we should go there and see what they are playing at."

"Unfortunately it's not that simple Kyp," spoke the Whipid Jedi Master G'hrunk. "With the Jedi's move to separate itself from politics, a Jedi sent to one of the Sith Planet's can be interpreted as us having two faces. We are separated, but we are not enemies with the Galactic Alliance." "Why should we care what the Galactic Alliance thinks? We are Jedi. Our business is our own." "With all due respect Masters," spoke up Dane. "We do not yet know if this is some elaborate scheme or a legitimate claim by a group of planets with a dark past trying to turn over a new leaf." "You suggest we do nothing Master Derragon?" spoke the Neimoidian Jedi again. "No Master, instead I suggest we keep close watch but take no actions yet." "I agree Master Derragon. The Force will guide us in the direction we must take, to move before we think this through would be foolish. Well spoken Master Dane, we will be in touch. May the Force be with you." "And with you Masters." Dane nodded his head as the holo faded.
