Crukai quickly grabs Aina's arm and pulls her back, "Just watch..." He whispers. He could tell that something was wrong here.
"Don't move Jedi," said the spy. "Your powers are useless here. Drop your lightsaber. Now."
Orun stared at the attacker. He was tall and lean, his face concealed behind a metallic mask. He spoke through some kind of voice box that masked his true voice and only an electronic sound could be heard. He wore tight fitting black clothing and his blaster was one of many makes and models seen throughout the galaxy nowadays.
"Who are you?" Orun asked. He released the lightsaber blade and held it.
"My name is unimportant," said the spy. "I will be well paid for finding you and your friends. Don't bother using your fancy Jedi tricks. You and I are on equal ground now." The spy glanced upwards into the trees.
Crukai and Aina allow their eyes to drift up, above, in the limbs of the tree's, the find several small creatures. Crukai grows silent, not quiet understanding the significance of those creatures.
Aina's eyes widen, she knew what this all meant. She twitches several times, she could feel her own connection with the force weakening, "This is bad..." She whispers.
Crukai pauses as he thinks for a moment, "Follow me." He whispers. They both silently ease back into the cover of bushes. As they sneak through the shrubbery, they could hear Orun and the spy as they converse.
"Now that my job is done, I will get paid with a bonus," the spy said. He aimed his blaster at Orun's head. "Being a Jedi killer will most certainly up my reputation in the field now."
Crukai sneers to himself as he thinks, "What arrogance."
"How did these ysalamiri get here on Yavin?" Orun asked. "Who do you work for?"
Aina smiles as she listens to Orun. She thinks, "Good, he's trying to buy time. A Jedi must use their wits when the force can not be called upon, he must have been listening to Master Lukes instructions."
Crukai and Aina stop and kneel infront of the base of the large tree that held all of the ysalamiri. The silence that smoothered the area alarmed them, there wasn't time to spare. Crukai nods to Aina, they had to act now.
Crukai clutches all the rocks he had collected in his hands while sneaking here, he leaps up and shouts, "Hey ugly!" In a quick motion, he throws several rocks at the spy, before diving for cover. Having distracted the spy for the needed instant, Aina pulls forth her lightsaber, and in a single swing, she slices the tree from its base.
The large tree whines and aches as it falls over with a loud clash. Aina smiles to herself as she could feel the force flooding her body once again, she could only assume that Orun was already taking action.
Crukai lifts his head up and gives a confused grunt, "Did it work?"
Several explosions and hull scars later, the Far Runner was in fast pursuit of the Eclipse-class Star Destroyer, closing on it's ion engines in a position where few turbolasers could target it. Of course, the TIE's could. The droid crew was busy keeping their tail clear of all foes. An occasional shot pierced the shields and sent shudders through the hull, but as a whole the frigate was in prime condition. Keyan sat in the pilot's chair keeping a steady course on the SD's aft. In his upper left viewport, he saw a squadron of Interceptors peel off and vector towards him.
"Not good. Be advised, squad coming in at mark 225, prepare to open fire."
Just as he finished the order, another voice cut across the comm.
"All fighter squadrons return home."
The pilot gawked in light of the order, as the Eclipse would then run rampant. But then, the giant ship accelerated in hyperspace and was gone. Any cleanup could fall the the Imperial taskforce in the system. Apparently Master Skywalker had a good relationship with the Remnant. Funny, considering he's the one that brought about their downfall. But people made odd friends, especially Jedi. Disengaging the combat protocals, Keyan kicked in the thursters and vectored for Yavin's atmosphere. Within moments, the Imperial Customs Frigate had set back down on the green field, and the Jedi hopeful was making his way towards the Temple. This time he would get a chance to talk to Master Skywalker. And be accepted...he could only hope.
Zarx braced himself as they entered the atmosphere of Yavin VI. Flames licked around the view port making Zarx winced with their glare and brought up one delicate hand to shield his eyes a wince creasing his brow. He suddenly let go of the controls and grabbed the arms of the chair and closed his eyes and let out several sharp breaths of agitation. As the forests and ruins of Yavin began to fill the screen
“Brace yourself” Zarx shouted and held all the more firmly to the chair. The Manta hit the forest the vertical wing crumpling like paper as Gravity flattened it against the underside of the Manta. The Manta suddenly crashed through a tree then pin wheeled into another and hit the forest the floor, rolled on to it’s side and was still steam rising from the hull. Zarx was thrown forwards into the console and fell into darkness.
The light fell awkwardly through the cracked duraplast playing across Zarx’s head like a dance of ghostly lights constantly shifting over the pale green skin. Zarx slowly woke up his eyes taking in the damage then slowly pulled himself upright and leant against the door frame coughing. The fine silks hung ragged and dirty with blood. One of the chairs had a smear of blood across the headrest, and lying on the floor was the corpse of Kendran a tree branch had broken through the hull and had gone right through him. Zarx winced and looked at Salien who was looking at the body her face pale
“What?” Zarx asked “Never seen an ugly death?” Salien shook her head then bent forwards her cheeks bulging “Oh no you don’t” Zarx said and ran over to her and kicked open the port and let her empty her stomach into the open air. Zarx looked away disgust radiating from every cell of his body now knowing why humans didn’t regurgitate their food, that would be just too messy. Zarx let go of her and turned back into the room and opened a weapons chest and pulled out a hunting rifle. He knew that it was a projectile weapon but he didn’t mind. The sheer beauty of the rifle far out shone it’s more advanced counterparts. It was long and black so as not to catch attention in the light but it was all curves it’s sight slowly melting into the rifle with several electronic adjustments. He pulled out the ammo and felt the warmth of pride in his stomach as he slotted in several explosive tipped bullets into the firing chamber each bullet had enough explosives in it to cause serious damage to the target’s body body. Zarx hefted the rifle experimentally and grinned like a child with a new toy. Zarx slid the sniper rifle into a back holster and pulled that on flexing his muscles as he did so.
Salien looked up as she heard Zarx step out of the Manta and looked sceptically at the rifle on his back. Zarx just looked at her blankly and looked around taking a deep breath. The sounds of the forest echoing around him.
“Which ways the temple?” Zarx asked looking around. Salien closed her eyes for a second then pointed roughly northwards.
“Over there” she murmured Zarx nodded and looked at her then motioned for her to go in front of him her hand going to her lightsabre and stepped into the forest.
Startled, the spy twisted his head to the direction of the noise. A rock suddenly struck the spy's head and he dropped his arm away from Orun. With a loud groan, an immense tree was beginning to fall and the spy was directly in the path of it. Orun threw himself out of the way of the falling tree and rolled to a safe distance away. The spy cried out and fired a wild shot into the air with his blaster. With a crash, the tree toppled to the ground and the spy was pinned underneath.
With his blaster now several feet away having been thrown in the spy's panic, he was now helpless. Orun stood and approached the trapped man. With a grunt, the spy attempted to roll the tree off of himself but it was a futile maneuver. The tree was simply too big. Fortunately, the tree also held the ysalamiri and with the destruction of the tree, the fragile creatures had died instantly as soon as the tree hit the ground.
Orun shook his head. It was a tragic loss. He counted at least five dead ysalamiri. Orun felt the Force return to him and the once dead space surrounding his thoughts came to life. The Living Force filled Orun's being once more. He wanted to be angry at the mysterious attacker but he held his emotions in check. Anger was not the Jedi way neither was to enact revenge on this pathetic man now helpless under a tree. But how did this tree suddenly fall upon this man? Orun inspected the cut and it was smooth and straight. As if a lightsaber had cut it down. Perhaps a fellow Jedi had gotten his distress signal?
The presence of two others could be felt. Orun saw a Zabrak man through the brush. He was no Jedi but Orun felt a strong Force presence within him. Taking no chances, Orun ignited his lightsaber and faced the Zabrak.
"Who are you?" Orun asked. "Be still stranger. Do not be foolish enough to attack me as your friend here did."
Crukai slowly rises to his feet and brushes himself free of dirt, "Now that's a funny way to say you're welcome."
Aina leaps onto the fallen tree and walks along it for a short distance. She motions for Orun to disengage, "You are Orun, from the academy? We are not enemies." She notices how Orun continues to stare at Crukai with suspicious eyes, "He's not from the academy, but believe me. He is an ally, I sensed the force had a motive for him, and it appears that it's just starting to show itself."
Crukai slowly steps foward, "There she goes again, that same cryptic speech."
Aina sighs, "Despite his eccentric personality..." She nods, "It's quite simple really. The force works in waves. Even the slightest movements, can cause ripples."
Crukai stares at her, "Like what?"
Aina continues, "For example, your being drawn here was the will of the force. That was the trigger, if you hadn't come, I would probably be dead." She glances toward Orun, "And so would he." The force is mysterious in how it works, but I believe Master Luke knew this would happen. It's important that we get back to the Academy."
Crukai glances toward Orun, "The names Crukai, I don't know much about this Jedi stuff, but everyone seems to be pointing toward this Luke guy." He rubs his nose, "Guess it wouldn't hurt."
Aina motions for the group to move out, "We shouldn't waste time, as of the moment, we're in the dark as to how the battle has progressed. I sense danger still in the air, so keep your guard up. Let's go."
Orun lowered his lightsaber. "I sense the Force in you Crukai. Yes, I am a Jedi at the Academy. We are under attack from a star destroyer orbiting above. The Academy defenses have been enabled but this human was found spying on the Academy grounds. I want to know who he is."
The spy growled in protest. Orun reached down and yanked off the man's mask. Underneath, he was a human male, probably Corellian, and was young. Orun estimated him to be about twenty five to thirty years old. He was scarred with numerous old knife wounds and his bald head bore a large tattoo of a creature Orun could not identify.
"Who are you?" Orun demanded. "Why were you spying on the Academy?"
The spy said nothing. His eyes glanced at Crukai and the female Jedi and back to Orun. He grunted and reached into a pocket on his belt. Orun attempted to stop him but he was too late. The Corellian spy slipped a small pill into his mouth and within moments he was dead.
Orun checked the man's pulse. His skin was becoming a mottled green and his eyes began to bulge. There was nothing Orun could do. Not even the Force could help stop the quick acting poison.
"Now we'll never know why he was here, but it can't be good," Orun said. He looked to Crukai and Aina. "I will take him back to the Academy. I will also take you two to see Master Skywalker. He would be interested in questioning such a strong Force sensitive student as yourself Crukai. You both have my thanks for the timely rescue. I only hope that the others were successful in fending off the star destroyer."
Using the Force, Orun was able to lift the tree off of the dead man. The Twi'lek picked him up over his shoulders the together the three headed off for the Academy.
The grounds were full of activity. The four turbolasers and ion cannons had ceased firing. The star destroyer that once hung over head was now gone and Orun saw a few of the Jedi's fighters had landed.
Was the battle over? Had they won?
"Master Luke is over there in that main temple area," Orun said to Crukai and Aina. "I must take this man to my medical facility. His body may provide a clue to his origins. I regret I cannot introduce you myself. We'll meet again soon."
Aina nods, "I feel our paths shall cross again, till then, take care." She swiftly walks off.
Crukai waves to the Twi'lek, "Yeah, what she said." He steps back and grins, "See ya around." He quickly turns about and runs after Aina.
Aina's pace was somewhere between a jog and a power walk, she skipped steps from time to time as she hurried along. Crukai could tell that she was an impatient person who was prone to getting things done as opposed to waiting and analyzing, "Slow down." Crukai shouts to her.
Aina pauses and glances back. She watches as Crukai catches up to her and weezes, "We've wasted enough time." She barks.
Crukai rubs his face as he gasps for air, "We've been runnin' all day, from the looks of things." He glances around, there were star ships still coming in for landings, "A lot more ships are landing, than there are ships taking off. The battle's over hun... so just calm down."
Aina puts her hands to her waist as she watches Crukai puff for air, "You're rather out of shape, how old are you, exactly?"
Crukai glances up at her as he pulls himself together, "47, give or take a year."
Aina twitches as she stares at him in a baffled gaze, "He's far too old to train..." She thinks to herself, "What could Master Luke be thinking?" She lets out a quaint laugh, "You'd better start taking care of your body, at your age. Some exercise would do you some good."
Crukai grins as sweat drips from his face, "Well, I blame this jungle humidity. I done spent the past 3 years aboard a star destroyer." He rubs his chin as he gains control of his breathing, "Guess the controlled environment got me all soft." He chuckles.
Aina grins as she asks, "Are you ready?" It was at that time that Crukai noticed the installation they were standing in front of. It was massive and eliquent in it's design, giving it an aura of high tech yet somewhat spiritual.
Crukai eyes shiver as he feels something pushing against him. It was that same feeling he got, all those years ago when he was aboard the Death Star. His mouth slightly opens and his eyes close as the feeling flows through his body, it was as though he were reliving the past. He could feel whatever was in there, that thing that first ignited his feeling for the force.
Aina observes Crukai, a smile etches across her face as she asks, "You can feel him, can't you?"
Crukai opens his eyes and he slowly turns his head toward Aina, "I've felt this before, years ago... It was the first time I felt it, I could never forget it." He clears his throat, "What is this?"
Aina's eyes were bright as she stares Crukai in the eyes, "I see..." She whispers, "What you are feeling, is the force." She glances toward the temple, "The aura that Master Luke and the other Jedi masters is strongest in this temple."
Crukai stares at the temple, his face was struck with facination, "The answers, are here?" He asks.
Aina nods, "Would you like to meet him?"
Crukai quickly turns his face toward Aina, "Luke?"
Aina smiles, "Who else? From what I understand, he's expecting you." She walks toward the entrance of the temple, "He most likely already senses your presence and it awaiting you." She motions for Crukai to follow her, "We mustn't keep Master Skywalker waiting."
As Crukai enters the temple, he could feel the flood gates of energy pouring through him. This place, he could feel so much coming from it.
Aina speaks to him like a tour guide, "This temple was constructed to be used as the strong hold for the new Jedi order. It was under Master Lukes Guidance that-"
Crukai follows her as they walk through the huge entrance chamber. There were stairs leading to higher levels of the temple, and Jedi were walking to and from in a casual manner. A Jedi master and his student pass Aina and Crukai, he watches as they turned a glance to him, an echoe of force energy rushed through his body. Almost like a Jedi way of saying, "Hello."
Aina glances back at Crukai was seemed rather startled and over taken by the temple, "I don't know exactly why Master Skywalker wishes to meet with you, but..." She approaches him, "You may or may not be selected for training."
Crukai shakes his head, "I don't know about all of this, this is a bit much."
Aina shakes her head to him, "You're feeling the force much stronger than you ever had. It's natural to be afraid at first, but don't shield yourself from it. Just embrace it and it'll wrap you in it's warmth."
Crukai tosses his hands out as he spouts, "Hmph, never said I was afraid. Just don't feel comfortable with all this... stuff going through me."
"Master Aina, it's good to see you." A young Jedi male, with short black hair approaches them. He greets them with a bow, "When your ship crashed, we assumed the worst."
Aina nods, "Fortunately, it wasn't my time." She steps aside and introduces Crukai, "This pilot assisted me."
The young Jedi nods, "Yes, Crukai, we know of his arrival."
Crukai glances at the Jedi with wild smirk, "Well, that makes things easier."
The young Jedi motions for Crukai to follow him, "Please, come with me. Master Skywalker is eager to make your aquaintence."
Crukai steps foward, but halts as he glances toward Aina, "What about her?"
Aina laughs, "Just go, I've got other things to attend to. Maintence reports, etc."
Crukai stares at her for a moment before shrugging, "Alright, you just... take care of yourself, kid."
The young Jedi taps his foot impatiently, "We must hurry along, Master Skywalker is a very busy man."
Aina smiles, "You too." She steps back and walks off.
Crukai turns toward the young Jedi and slaps his hands together, "Alright, lead the way."
The young Jedi quickly hurries off, Crukai quickens his pace to keep up with him. The kid spouts all sorts of things as they walk along, "Master Skywalker is one of the greatest of the Jedi Masters, you should be very respectful in his presence." They turn a corner, "Due to the recent battle, he is a bit pressed for time." He side steps to get around a group of people, "So don't get upset if all your questions are answered." He turns another corner and they start climbing stairs, "He's very excited about meeting you though, apparently your coming here." They reach the second floor and turn another corner, "Is of some kind of significance."
Crukai asks quickly, "Whoa, what kind of-"
The young Jedi cuts his short, "He'll explain, just mind yourself and..." They stop before a pair of huge doors. The young Jedi glances Crukai over, quickly patting him of any dust and wiping his face clean with a rag, "try to keep an open mind as to what Master Skywalker has to say." He steps back, "Master Skywalker is very wise, to meet with him directly. You should be honored." He nods, "Any questions?"
Crukai stumbles on his words, "Wha- Huh?"
The young Jedi quickly opens the door and announces, "Master Skywalker?"
A calm and collected voice echoes from within the chamber, "Send him in."
The young Jedi steps back and motions for Crukai to enter, "Please enter."
Crukai stares at the kid as he walks past him and into the room. As soon as he enters the chamber, the door behind him shuts, he glances back.
"Welcome, I've been expecting you." A voice looms over Crukai's shoulder.
Crukai turns his head back around to find Luke standing at the other end of the chamber, "So I hear." He replies.

Crukai turns his head back around to find Luke standing at the other end of the chamber, "So I hear." He replies. "Sorry about the echo, it can sound like I'm right behind when I could really be at the other end of the room.":::...
...:::Luke stepped back from a small console with the droid R2-D2 beside him. He looked as if he were busy repairing something because of the wires in his hand. R2 trills a question which Luke seemed to understand perfectly. "I only said that the light inside the screen could be brighter. I wasn't asking for the entire thing to be rewired." R2 spun his head from side to side and let out an abbrasive buzzing sound. This time Luke put his hands on his hips and looked down at the droid again. "Artoo . . ." The droid then whined and made a submissive sound. Luke shook his head as he walked towards Crukai. "I feel like Threepio . . ." Luke brushed off his hands and reached out to shake the slightly older mans hand. "Sorry about all that formality Crusa was talking about. Truth be told, I don't like to be called "Master Skywalker". I'm not above anyone else here. Throughout life, we're constantly learning and constantly finding new pathways through the Force.":::...
...:::"I know it can be easy to get wide-eyed because of everything said about me, but once ready, the Jedi being trained here will do much greater things than I have. Come on, I'll show you around while I'm on my way back to the Defense Chamber on ground level." The two then began to walk back out of the huge door that served as the entrance to the Main Audience chamber. Crusa had taken Crukai on the old stairwell of the temple, keeping Crukai clear from the turbolifts. "Again I must apologize, Crusa believes I should have some kind of "Grand Mystic Jedi Master" air about me when that's not me at all." The two step onto a turbolift and Luke activates the switch. "I know it must've been hectic finally coming here especially given what just happened." Crukai looked at Luke, the questions in his eyes clearly told Luke that he had come right in the middle and was still partially lost about it all even now. "The beginning of it all was a few weeks ago when Jedi Master Kyp Durron and his fighter group met up with some outlaw Imperial forces. Former Imperial Ace pilot Kasan Moor was with him and was shot down on the edge of Hutt Space on a planet called Kegan.":::...
...:::Luke and Crukai stepped off and entered into another doorway. Behind that door was a very large room with a base level of sand, four large triangular rocks rose up from the sand holding up another large transparisteel platform cross-sectioned into four parts. Just under the platform were four Jedi, lightsabers ignited and facing each other. Then, as if some chronopiece had let them know it was time, the 4 then faced off parrying lightsaber blows and trading them back and forth while backflipping away from underneath the platform then Force-jumping to the top of it. Luke seemed to pay it no mind as he and Crukai stepped onto a small enclosed catwalk taking them around the top edge of the room. From below a voice said "Let the Force flow through you!" "Kasan thankfully wasn't killed in the crash but was picked up by Torba the Hutt and his men. Unbeknownst to all of us, he was secretly preparing an Eclipse-Class Super Star Destroyer named the Darkness in Wild Space right under the New Republic's nose. Torba took Kasan there and then things got weird. When the Death Star was destroyed here almost 25 years ago, it was believed that Grand Moff Tarkin was killed aboard it. Somehow he survived or had a clone of himself created because now he has taken the Darkness and seems to allied himself with former-Admiral Daala and attacked.":::...
...:::Luke and Crukai had rounded a corner of the catwalk and entered into another turbolift room. They stepped onto another one and the lift went downwards. "Tarkin and Daala's return wasn't unnoticed by the Imperial Remnant and Grand Admiral Pellaeon himself is in orbit with his Star Destroyer making repairs and watching just in case the Darkness should return. We believe that Kasan Moor is still onboard and now I've recieved word that Jedi Knight Kali Tal'Set, and Jedi Masters Gavriel Derragon and Kyle Landoran are on board." Luke stepped off the turbolift platform once it reached the bottom. All around the hangar bay ships of all makes and models were coming back to land. Luke paused for a moment as he looked out the hangar doors to the jungle beyond. "For now, things have returned to some level of normalcy. I just got off the line with my sister Leia Organa Solo and her husband Han. They are both seeing to it that we also get two Mon Calamari Cruisers sent here to assist in our defense should it all start again." Or should whatever Tarkin had up his sleeve decides to come back here. Luke thought to himself. Still, no need to get Crukai worried over more, he's had a busy enough day. They all have. Luke then dropped his thoughts and focused back on Crukai. "When Keyan Farlander returns in his Imperial craft, I'll have him show you around further. For now, there's a Mess Hall that way..." Luke pointed to the far side of the hangar where some other Jedi were seen walking towards. "...if you ware hungry. We recieved a new shipment of foodstuffs last week and the preparations there should be able to fix anything from dewback steaks to Hongorian Greenshish. Though as you can imagine the latter isn't quite popular for most human tastes. Rooms we have on the second level, when you find an empty one that you want, just press the switch to activate it and it'll be logged into the database automatically. May the Force be with you Crukai."
The turbolift opened into a hallway, where a few Jedi apprentices waited. None seemed very old, maybe 12 at the most. That was most interesting, Keyan didn't think ones so young could grasp the Force, or decide what to use it for. Many children were petty, and might use it for revenge. And according to the holos he had watched, revenge was more or less the Dark Side. And he didn't think Luke would like Dark Side children running around. But it was the Jedi Master's decision. Keyan wasn't even trained, what knowledge could he have? Still deep in thought, the robed man almost ran into a child. The young adept had moved into his way, and blocked the doorway beyond. Keyan thought the brush past the child, but there was strength in his eyes, and stance. Perhaps he might ask, and not shove.
"Excuse me, I need to speak with Master Skywalker. My name is Keyan Doranth, I arrived on the frigate Far Runner, and am looking for training. I know it's hectic and all with the assault. I should know..I just fought in it. But I must speak with him, to find if I've come in vain."
The sandy haired child met his gaze with steely brown eyes, never wavered or showing the least amount of emotion. These younglings made such...imposing guards, if they could be called such. After a moment's deliberation, the boy nodded and spoke.
"Master Skywalker is with another right now. But I'm sure he will be with you soon. Wait here, and I'll tell him you're here. Keyan, correct? Off the Far Runner?"
The boy nodded to himself and moved to the end of the corridor. The door slid open a hair, and he poked his head in.
"Sorry for the interruption Master Skywalker, but there is a man here to see you about training. His name is Keyan Doranth, he says he came here on the frigate Far Runner and helped in the defense of Yavin moments ago. When you are finished, perhaps you could take a moment to talk to him."
The child left and closed the door behind him. He leaned against it, robes clinging to the metal with static. He resumed his stare at Keyan, as if forbidding him to move or speak, just to wait for Master Skywalker.
Luke brushed off his hands and reached out to shake the slightly older mans hand. "Sorry about all that formality Crusa was talking about. Truth be told, I don't like to be called "Master Skywalker". I'm not above anyone else here. Throughout life, we're constantly learning and constantly finding new pathways through the Force."
Crukai extends his hand to meet with the Jedi Master, "Well, from what I hear, you're quite the Jedi. It looks to me like a lot of the kids here really look up to you."
"I know it can be easy to get wide-eyed because of everything said about me, but once ready, the Jedi being trained here will do much greater things than I have. Come on, I'll show you around while I'm on my way back to the Defense Chamber on ground level." Luke motions for Crukai to follow him.
Crukai follows the Jedi master as they make their way through the Jedi temple. They get aboard a turbo lift and Crukai watches a Luke punches in a few numbers. Luke continues to speak, "Again, I must apologize, Crusa believes I should have some kind of "Grand Mystic Jedi Master" air about me when that's not me at all."
Crukai smiles toward Luke as he nods, "Yeah, well there's nothing to apologize for. The kid really admires ya, he probably just felt that you should recieve all the respect that he believes you deserve."
Luke nods in response to Crukai. He continues, "I know it must've been hectic finally coming here especially given what just happened."
Crukai nods quietly, he couldn't shake the feeling of being at a total loss. None of this made much sense. He glances back to Luke as Luke tries to explain some few details about what was going on.
Luke explains as they walk, "The beginning of it all was a few weeks ago when Jedi Master Kyp Durron and his fighter group met up with some outlaw Imperial forces. Former Imperial Ace pilot Kasan Moor was with him and was shot down on the edge of Hutt Space on a planet called Kegan."
Crukai nods, he wasn't sure exactly why Luke was endulging him with such facts.
They reach the floor that Luke had aimed for, as they exit the turbo lift, Crukai glances down the catwalk. On the level below them, there were several Jedi. With in an instant, their lightsaber ignite and they begin a dualing session. He glances back up at Luke to find that Luke was still talking, something about an Eclipse-star destroyer and darkness. It was hard to pay attention to anything when there was so much going on around him. The dome above their heads was massive. The sounds of lightsabers slapping against each other echoed through the corridors. He could hear the coaching of Jedi masters as they watched the sparring match. Above it all, he found himself following Luke in a trance. Words were just words, the things he felt in this place was too deafening for him to focus.
At some point, Luke pauses and Crukai halts to a stop, nearly bumping into him, "What is it?" Crukai asks in a confused tone.
Luke turns to him and nods. It was obvious to him that Crukai was too exhausted and overwhelmed to take in much more information, "...if you ware hungry. We recieved a new shipment of foodstuffs last week and the preparations there should be able to fix anything from dewback steaks to Hongorian Greenshish. Though as you can imagine the latter isn't quite popular for most human tastes. Rooms we have on the second level, when you find an empty one that you want, just press the switch to activate it and it'll be logged into the database automatically."
Crukai glances in the direction that Luke was pointing. He turns back around and asks, "Wait, when can you explain this force to me? Why do all the people keep saying that I was drawn here? What is going on?"
Luke sighs as he puts his hands to his waist, "There's a lot more to explain, but you must be tired and hungry. The force can't be explained in a day, after all." He nods, "Get some rest."
Crukai shakes his head, "Wait a sec..."
Luke bows his head, "May the force be with you, Crukai." Without further word, Luke turns about and walks off.
It was obvious to Crukai that now wasn't the time to address such lengthy conversations, besides... He holds his stomach, He hadn't eaten in a while. Crukai walks toward the meal hall and takes a large order of food. As he sits and waits for his meal, he notices a familiar face walk into the facility. He raises his hand and waves, "Aina!" He calls.
Aina turns her head, hearing her voice called. She locates the source of the noise and approaches Crukai, "So how'd your meeting with Master Luke go?" She asks as she pulls up a chair.
Crukai shrugs, "He's a busy guy."
Aina nods, "I know, a lot has happened and I imagine a lot of things are being demanded of Master Skywalker." She smiles, "Don't get upset, I'm certain he kept your meeting short for both of you."
Crukai stirs his drink with a straw as he nods, "I know, to be honest. I don't think I can concentrate much as of yet, this place is a hundred times worse than a cantena..."
Aina stares at Crukai, a bit baffled, "What do you mean?"
Crukai rubs his forehead painfully, "Just a lot of congestion in the air, it's hard to think. You know?"
Aina nods, "You've never been around so many force sensitives. The sudden introduction to such a place can cause what you're feeling, I felt simular when I first came here..." She stares at Crukai with eyes of concern as she thinks to herself, "But not as bad as he seems to be." She raises her hand and waits for a waiter to approach.
Crukai's vision goes blurry as he stares at his menu, everything was a bit unbalanced in his body. It felt like he were still spinning in his space craft. He puts his hand over his face as he moans, "Urgh..."
Aina finishes ordering and glances back toward Crukai, "Are you okay?" She asks.
Crukai slowly starts to slide out of his chair, "Don't... feel... a thi-" He falls to the ground. Blood drips from his nose as his eyes shut. He could hear Aina's voice in his head, "Crukai! Hey! Some one get a doctor!"
"You never know what'll happen." A large man with a bushy mustache shuts the case to the engine of the Tie-fighter, "So that's why we alway inspect before we release."
Crukai nods as he cleans the grease from his hands with a rag, "I understand, Sir." He says earnestly.
"How's my fighter, is she ready to fly?" A storm trooper approaches them. His helmet was off and he was casually drinking a bottle of water. The mechanic nods, "Yes sir, she's all set for flight."
The storm trooper quickly tosses the bottle to the mechanic and throws on his helmet, "It's about time!" He shouts, "The training exercise is almost over, gotta get in there and score some points."
Crukai steps aside quickly as the storm trooper runs toward his ship. It was another training exercise, the time of month were imperial fighter squadrons would meet and exercise mock ship battles. Their squadron was down seven-teen points, but with Albart back in the game... The chances of them winning was much higher. The rules of the exercise were laid out well, the winners would recieve an extra six hours of rest for the week, along with a special dinner.
Crukai smiles as he watches the ship fly off, they could win... He imagined getting some extra rest and a night of decent food.
"Crukai, stop day dreaming and get to work, boy!" The mechanic ordered in a bark.
Crukai lowers his head as reality set back in, there was no prize for slaves... For them, if their team wins, maybe they wouldn't be beaten, but if they lost. The Imperials always were looking for someone to blame... It was always easy to blame the slaves, they didn't work hard enough, didn't work fast enough.
The ship burst into an uproar as Crukai and the mechanic he worked under were repairing a broken shaft. Crukai glanced up to see several storm troopers rush into their hanger and carry off one of their pilots. They made shouts of joy. Crukai grins as he watches them carry off their soldier, probably to have some drinks and enjoy a good meal... Crukai's eyes drift down, he stares at his hands. They were covered in oil, as was the rest of him. His lip twitches, a bit angry...
Several hours later, it was time for their shift to end. The mechanic that Crukai trained under, clocked out and gave Crukai the usual bit about being on time and working hard. Crukai nods to the old man, like he always did. There wasn't much of an option anyway. It was either do what you're told, or suffer the consequences.
As Crukai made his way down the corridor that night, something odd happened. He found the storm trooper from before, the pilot of the ship that he and the old man repaired was walking in his direction. He was stumbling and sliding against the wall, obviously drunken.
Crukai tried to pass the man without notice, but he jolts in a startle as the man speaks to him, "Heeey... yoouu." He slurred as he stared at Crukai, "Dun... Dun't I knove you?"
Crukai stands to attention as he was addressed by a soldier, "Yes sir, my master and I repaired your ship earlier."
The man stares at Crukai for a long moment before walking toward him. He reaches his hand forward, causing Crukai to brace himself, expecting to be struck. Instead, Crukai feels a pat on his shoulder. He glances at the soldier in confusion.
The soldier smirks, "Names Albart, yer a good kid. Gettin' my ship fixed, dunno how'd *hic* I'd get by without ya."
Crukai stares at Albert, mystified by what was happening, "Th-thank you, sir."
Albart reaches into the bag that he was carrying and pulls out a box, "Here, half *Hic* It's yer's anyway." He shoves the box into Crukai's chest and stands up. He puts a finger to his lips, "Don't you be, telling no one, eh?"
Crukai nods, not sure as to what he just recieved.
Albart swings his hand out, "Get on home, boy."
Without hesitation, Crukai rushes off. Having gotten several corridors from where he was, he stops and opens the box. It was left overs from the gourmet meal that the soldiers were given. A smile etches across Crukai's face as he closes the box... "Albart." He thinks fondly.
"Is he going to be okay?" "He should be fine, he just needs some rest." "What happened?" "It seems that he had a combination of exhaustion and neural over load."
Crukai opens his eyes slightly and tilts his head. He could see blurry figures in a bright light, "Albart?" He whispers in a hoarse tone.
A warm hand touches his forehead and a soothing voice speaks to him, "Just rest... rest..."
Crukai's eyes grow heavy as he falls back into slumber.
The door hissed and slid home as Talbot left. Kali was still looking at the floor and sobbing. She had just betrayed everyone she held dear. Everything she loved, everyone she cared for... She had told Talbot everything she knew. Answered all his questions, all the while mentally cursing herself for doing so. But she couldn't fight the drugs. Even now, the second drug he had injected her with kept her awake, from drifting off into blissful unconsciousness where the hurt would float away and she could rest. But it wouldn't come.
Kali sniffled, then spit the blood from her mouth onto the floor. After the sadness and the mind-numbing hurt, came the anger. Anger that she had disappointed the others, let them down, put them in danger by talking to Talbot. By telling him everything. She choked at that thought and tried to stand up. Her hands were bound behind the chair, but not to the chair. It took her a few tries of standing and then having to sit down quickly again, either because her head was beginning to swim, or because her binders got caught on the back of the chair. Finally, she took a deep breath and slowly stood up, easing herself off the chair. Once she had cleared it, she stood to the side, hands still bound behind her back, stareing at the chair. With a frustrated cry, she gave it a viscious kick, sending it to bang against the durasteel wall. She did the same with the table, staggering back against the wall, into a corner, as her head pounded with just quick movements.
Leaning her head back against the cool metal, Kali fought back the tears that had started over again. She was so frustrated she couldn't do anything... Couldn't feel anything through the Force. It frustrated, and at the same time, terrified her. What if they never got out? Or what if Gavriel came to late? Sighing, she slid down the wall, half falling to the floor. With her arms kept behind her, she had few options of where she could rest. Her wrists were bloody from trying to squeeze out of the binders. She had to get her mind somewhere else, other than her betrayal. She would go crazy in the small cell, beating herself to death... Although if someone died because of the information she gave up, she would never forgive herself.
Kali leaned against the wall at her side and took stock of the injuries she could feel. She was pretty sure her nose was broken, and both eyes were half-swelled shut from the punches to her face. Her face. It was a mass of cuts and bruises. Her lower lip cut and swollen, and there was blood and tears everywhere. The Force help both her and Gavriel if he saw her like this... Gavriel. She had betrayed him as well and that thought hurt worse than any cut, scrape, or injury she had. Her heart felt like it had shattered. Talbot would surely find Gavriel on the ship, and now that he knew Gav was connected to Kali, he would use it against her and him... Tears and blood were rolling down her cheeks, to her neck and chest, to stain the front of her tank top and a few spots on her pants. Especially now, when she leaned forward to rest her forehead on her drawn up knees. Her legs ached, her shoulders ached, her whole body hurt. When she breathed deeply, there was a sharp pain in her right side. She didn't even want to think about what that meant. She closed her eyes, squeezing out a few more tears.
What was she going to do? How was she going to get out? Kali let out a shakey sigh and turned her head to rest in a more comfortable position, curled up in the corner. The drugs were wearing off now...
Once back at the academy Gabriel had decided to see if he could study the information he found on Echani combat in greater detail, taking lookst to determing differences & similarities between un-armed & armed Jedi Katas.
Back in the archive, Gabriel went to where he found the information o nthe Echani combat style & took it to the nearest data terminal, this time checking the armed combat moves, most of them appeared to use a Force Pike or a staff style of weapon, but if he studed the Echani style & mixedit wit hthe Jedi Katas, he could compensate by holding wone Lightsabe the other way so the blade pointed away from his enemy or target.
"Hmm... this is interesting. I gotta thank dad to reccomend this to me."
Asking toe archive observer if he could borrow the Echani datapad for a while, Gabriel headed back to his chambers. His only had the bare essentials, a bed, wardrobe, desk & somewhere to get washed. On the desk were 2 datapads, 1 he had already read, another that apparently came during nthe attack from the Eclipse, this one had a package with it. Going over to his desk, Gabriel read the datapad,
I hope that reccomendation on looking at that Echani stuff is interesting, cause we just found something we missed on Onderon. We located an old Sith tomb on it's twin moon, Dxun. We've just got back to the Onderon System to take a look at the tomb itself.
Now about what I'm writting about, before we found the tomb, we decided to make a trip to Dantooine, we touched down to look at an old Jedi Ruin we found there when someone came upto me & offered to sell me an odd looking ear-piece, looked more like an Arrowhead attached to a cable with a ear stud, probably some personal decoration he wanted to getrid of, anyway, we decided to give it to you, seeing as your the one that wants to look respectable. It's in the package we sent you.
We're abotu to start our insertion to the Tomb. Hope to find some things of interest on this one. We could be close to prooing our theory. Send us whatever you find fro mthe academy.
Love: Your Father."
Picking up the package after placing the Echani datapad down, he opened it & pulled out the ear-ring. The earing looked like a silver arrowhead with a small blue gem in the middle of it, the arrowhead was attached to a smapp piece of black string, which in-turn was attached to an ear stud.
'Hmm... I wonder how I'd look with it on.'
Gabriel then took the stud & took of the fastener that kept the stud in the ear lobe, then placed the tip of the stud point on the lower part of his right lobe, he then gritted his teeth & pushed the stud through, he then quickly placed the fasteneer on the stud after the spike went through.
After the Ear-ring was on, Gabriel decided to see what he looked like, waling to the mirror, he saw the Ear piece hang from his right ear lobe, saying to himself,
"I look like a Corellian Enviornmentalist with this thing in my ear. Oh well... better get to reading."
Gabriel then sat at the desk in his room & started to read thedatapad on the Echani, checking the holos of in the pad now & again.
Aina stands next to Crukai's bed. She was fixed on Crukai's face, staring at him with eyes that sought a familiar face. She slowly reaches her hand out when the door slides open behind her.
"I thought the doctor said you should let him rest." An older, balding man walks in. He was dressed in traditional Jedi robes, his eyes were deep and dark with age, and a grey mustache lined his upper lip, "What're you doing here?" He asks.
Aina slowly turns at glance toward the old man, "Master Kraito? When did you get back?" She asks quietly, never making eye contact.
Kraito places his hands behind his back as he sighs, "Just recently, I closed my case pre-maturely so that I may get here with haste."
Aina murmmers, "I see."
Kraito slowly steps foward as he glances at Crukai, "I can sense what you're feeling. You mustn't stray from the teachings."
Aina remains silent as she nods, "He looks a lot like him, that's all."
Kraito glances at her from behind, "He's not your master, Kaiden is dead. You haven't seen a Zabrak in ages, it's no doubt that you probably think he looks like him just because he's the first you've seen in a long while."
Aina turns her cheek to Kraito as she says bitterly, "Kraito, with all due respect, I'm not a padawan anymore. I'm a Jedi Knight, just like you. I don't need your lectures any more."
Kraito remains silent for a long while. He steps back slowly, "I see, well, we should meet some time. No lectures, but to exchange thoughts." He grins, "Catch up on old times." He watches for any response.
Aina nods, "Sure, that'd be great."
Kraito walks toward the door, it slides open. He says just before walking out, "Just..."
Aina cuts him short, "May the force be with you, Kraito."
Kraito stares at her with a look of concern, "May the force be with you, Aina..." He walks out and the door swiftly shuts behind him.
Aina listens as the door shuts, and continues to stare at Crukai for a while. She could almost hear Kaiden's voice as she stares at him. Closing her eyes, she sighs and shakes her head, "Maybe Kraito is right..." She thinks. "I'm a Jedi, I shouldn't feel like this... Jedi have not attachments." She nods to herself as he steps back and walks off, "There is only peace, only serenity." She leaves the room, running the code through her mind.
High above the planet of Yavin IV the small Imperial fleet came out of hyperspace. Led by the ISD II Black Nightand the two star destroyers Corruption and Luminaya, they began to position themselves in orbit above the small green moon. From behind them, four Escort Carriers began to unload each of their nine squadrons of TIE fighters, bombers, interceptors and assault gunboats. Once they had unloaded them they began to move away from the battle and towards their jump point.
The three star destroyers began to angle themselves toward the planet below. Once they were in position they would began the Base-Delta-Zero operation. The Base-Delta-Zero operation was the single most important and devastating operation that any Imperial captain would undertake. It meant one thing and one thing only- the complete and utter destruction of all population centers and resources, including industry, natural resources and cities. The Base-Delta-Zero command code never changed like other Imperial codes. This was to prevent any confunsion on the part of officers giving or reciving this code. But it was rarely issued. By turning a planet into molten slag it made it useless to anyone, including the Empire. During the whole era of the Galactic Empire, the code had only been issued two times, and the last time was the destruction of the rebel planet Dankayo. The operation as a whole could be completed in less than an hour with three star destroyers. And Tarkin has his three star destroyers.
Captain Adamus stood on the bridge of the Black Night. In front of him the moon of Yavin IV filled the viewport. Commander Kelter stood next to him and awaited the orders that would come. To his right the holo-images of the other star destroyers captains could be seen as well.
"Sir, we are in position to execute Base-Delta-Zero. Our carriers have unloaded their fighters and are now moving out of system. What are your orders?" Commander Kelter asked.
Captain Adamus turned to his executive officer and the other captains.
"Good. Deploy your fighters and use them as a screen against the Chimeara, the carriers fighters will carry out selective strikes on the planets surface. Move your ships around the moon to provide as much orbital bombardment as we can. Exectute Base-Delta-Zero."
The two captains saluted before disappearing. Once they had relayed their orders to the helm officers then they would begin to move away from the Black Night to opposite sides of the moon.
"Order the fighters to began their strikes on the temples and military installations. We should be able to catch them by suprise and destroy as many of their fighters on the ground as possible. Begin the orbital bombardment now. I want to finish this operation in an hour. You never know when the rebel scum will send reinforcements." Adamus ordered calmly.
"Yes, sir. Our computers tell us that we will reduce Yavin IV to molten slag in one hour." Kelter reported.
"Excellent. We will take care of the jedi today. This will be a day long remembered for the Empire." Adamus said with a grim smile. But he knew that it wouldn't be this easy.
Now the skies of Yavin IV began to fill with the black clouds of Imperial fighters. And high above them the green turbolaser fire began to pound the the forests and countryside. Soon the air was filled with smoke and fire as the green forests burned. The fighters went first, laying down laser fire against the temple walls forcing everyone to run and hide as the bombers followed up with their bombs and rockets. High above them another layer of gunboats and interceptors awaited. Waiting, waiting to pounce as the jedi took to their fighters.

...:::Gavriel again plunged his lightsaber hilt into the molten core of the blast doors which were at least 4 feet thick together. The heat from the molten durasteel was making Gavriel sweat even more as he looked to Kyle. "I can't sense the Force anywhere on the other side of these doors . . ." Kyle was stunned, something was wrong and he knew it. It was just that he couldn't put a finger on it. He shook his head and his face gone a bit more pale at the realization that he could no longer feel the Force anymore. There was only one type of animal he knew that could do that, a ysalamiri. "Strange, is there a ysalamiri here or something? Only those things could make us not feel the Force." Kyle commented. He sighed a bit and thought about the odds of that. Ysalamiri are hard to get and keep alive, and they had a mind of their own. So it couldn't be a coincidence that there were ysalamiri here. "Something tells me that isn't the case at all. Whatever the cause of us not feeling the Force, I got a bad feeling about it." he added. "Ysalamiri or either guys with Force belts on the other side. That's some kind of belt with a field that negates the Force around them. Sort of the electronic version of ysalamiri.":::...
...:::Once the middle of the blast doors had been completely burned through and the other side was visible, both Gavriel and Kyle jumped to the sides of the hole, as it was suddenly filled with red blasterfire. Gavriel looked to Kyle and pulled out his second lightsaber hilt. Activating the blue blade to accompany his green one, Gavriel nodded and jumped through the hole to draw the fire away buying time for Kyle to come in and help lessen the numbers. Kyle never really knew of the Force Belts, until now. But what Gavriel told him about it was enough for him, since he already knew the ysalamiri. He wasn't surprised that the Imperials would have created such a device. However, not wasn't the time to ponder on things as blaster fire poured though the hole which he and Gav had just cut through. Stormtroopers were shooting at them from the other side. Kyle had experience fighting without the Force, but that didn't mean that he liked it. As he and Gav jumped to the sides of the hole to take cover, Kyle ignited his orange lightsaber. Next, Kyle saw Gav jump right through that hole. Letting out a very brief sigh, Kyle followed suit as well by jumping through the hole, barely able to avoid being hit by the blaster bolts. With Gav as a diversion, Kyle managed to get close enough to a few of the Stormtroopers and cut down everyone who was within the range of his orange lightsaber. Granted, he couldn't use the Force anymore, but his reflex which was honed as a combat pilot hadn't faded one bit. With his heightened natural reflexes, Kyle took out another Stormtrooper with his lighsaber.:::...
...:::Gavriel rolled into the hallway with his arms to the sides, the light from his lightsabers attracted the Stromtrooper's attention long enough for Kyle to come in and lessen their numbers on his side. Gavriel stopped his role while on his back. Kicking his legs up, Gavriel allowed the weight to bring his torso up with them. Gavriel ducked a blaster shot that dug into the celing then brought both of his lightsabers together with the stormtrooper inbetween them. The trooper behind him fired and Gavriel's knee-jerk reaction was to use his lightsaber to deflect the shot, which worked and sent the shot into the wall beside the trooper. Gavriel was amazed that he had done that himself and went after the trooper himself. After removing his lightsaber from the trooper's stomach, killing the last one, the Force seemed to gain strength only slightly. Though it was enough for Gavriel to feel what he would call his darker side urging him to surrender, use it's power to break the Imperial's toys and tear this ship asunder until he finds what he seeks. But cooler heads would find her that much faster Gavriel reminds himself. Kyle could start feeling the Force, if only a bit of it after Gavriel had slain the last Stormtrooper here. He was amazed how he was able to deflect that shot with the lightsaber, but he knew it was possible as long as you could predict where the shot was. Kyle first learned to shoot down TIE Interceptors like that during the escape from Hoth. "Nice work, Gav. Too bad we don't have EMP grenades, or our lives would be so much less miserable." Kyle spoke. Then again, what's easy anyway? He simply shrugged that thought off and sucked up to the fact that he had to do this the hard way without EMP grenades. However, that didn't minimize Kyle's frustrations at not being able to use the Force. But like Gavriel, he knew that a cooler head would find Kasan faster, and be alive to see her instead of being dead in front of her. "Let's get going. Kasan and Kali are waiting, and hoping for us." he said, a slight grin on his face.:::...
...:::Gavriel paused a moment. "We're at the middle of the ship Kyle. You take the left, I'll take the right. We can communicate over the comlink if the Force doesn't get better for us. Can you sense Kasan even faintly?" Kyle nodded to Gavriel, he could in fact sense Kasan on this ship, even though it was only faintly. "That's a good idea, Gav. I doubt the Force would get better for us before this is over, so com-links are our best shot. Keep in touch, Gav. May the Force be with you." Kyle said, even though he could faintly feel the Force and knows that Gav was the same. It was more like a force of habit than anything else. With that, Kyle turned to the left and ran off. Gavriel watched at Kyle rounded a corner and disappeared. "Yeah, you too. I could use it a lot more than I'm getting now." Gavriel then shut down both lightsabers and hooked the blue one back to his belt while keeping hold of the green lightsaber hilt. He then ran towards the docking bay Kali's fighter had gone into. Time to explore.:::...
As Renn was walking to find Master Skywalker he felt the floor shake and he slammed against the wall. He cursed and touched the side of his head gingerly. He looked around for another Jedi to ask them what was going on.
He saw one and grabbed their arm. "What the hell is going on?!" he shouted, bracing himself for another impact.
"I think we're under attack. Might be the Imps."
"But they made a hyperspace jump1 I saw them leave! Where's Face? Come one let's get to our fighters!"
He started off in the direction of the hangar with the young Jedi tagging along after him. He dodged other Jedi left and right until he came to the hangar. Another tremble came and Renn almost fell to the ground but was able to catch himself before doing so. He looked up and noticed Face and Kell were already there with a few Jedi, Five among them waiting for orders.
"It's the Imps. Their bombing us right now, trying to get us to hide. This isn't going to be easy."
"Look we have to get up there! We have to stop them. Besides we can take a few bombers."
Face nodded and climbed into his A-wing as Renn climbed into the Silver Warrior. His astromech was lowered into its little canopy behind the cockpit. Renn strapped himself in and waited for orders from Master Luke.
HERE WE GO AGAIN, the droid complained.
"We survived these guys before. We can do it again."
DO REMEMBER TO ACTIVATE THE SHIELDS THIS TIME.
Renn rolled his eyes and fought the urge to leave the hangar but his instincts were telling him to await orders. He struggled with this idea for a few moments but then he activated the shields and thrusters.
"All right Green Squadron let's teach these Imps not to come by uninvited," Renn said. "May the Force be with us!"
"'Cause we may need it," came Face's wry comment.

As turbolaser fire started raining upon the planet Surface, the Jedi pilots started to scramble for their fighters. Gabriel clambered aboard the Ebon Hawk & launched with the fighters that were already gettign into the air.
As the craft exited the hanger, they were fured upon by TIEs hiding in wait in the clouds above, the fighters that were not targeted engaged all combat systems & began a firefight just above the academy.
Amidst the chaos of the combat, Gabriel was barking orders like no one's buinsness,
"Kepp those fighters fro mthe Academy. We have to stall for time until New Republic reinforcments arrive. All skilled Pilots with me, We're going to take this fight to the Star Destroyers after we clear a hole in the TIE blockade."
Gabriel then started firign away at any TIE that got in his way, blowing debris from every one he destroyed in each direction, also aidign Pilots who had Ties on their tail. After some fighting, one of the pilots reported,
"Sir, we have TIE Bombers on a bombing run with the Academy Itself, if the get there..."
"I know, pilot. They'll bombard the Academy until it's nothing but Rubble. Yellows 2 & 3 , form on my wing we're goign to engage the Bombers."
2 X-wings then formed up on Gabriel as he pointed the Hawk in the direction of the Bombers.
Minutes of Flying seemed like hours when one was also on the look out of Bombers of any kind,
"Are you sure you picked up bombers?"
"Positive, scope picked up a bout 2 squadrons."
"Ok, just keep... wait, I see them, 12 fighters in 2 groupes, comign in 4 o'clock. Swing round & attack. Full power to weapons."
The 3 fighters then turned to engage the Bombers they had just picked up. Once close, the Jedi opened fire, but not without retaliation, Tie Fighters were also present & were escorting the Bombers to their Target.
"OK, boys. Break formation."
THe 3 fighters then broke formation in 3 different directions, then swang round & fired at anythiing that had Hexaganal-shaped wings, most of the fighters & 2 or 3 of the bombers were taken out in the first attack, the TIE fighters then turned round to attack, landing some direct hits, but the TIEs were dealt with accordingly, destroying the TIEs before a second attack was put in, the attention then focused on the Bombers, THey were fired upon until they were destroyed or they backed off from the academy. The end result after multiple direct hits, were the Bombers were forced to back off.
"Ebon Hawk to Academy fighters, the Bombers have been routed, we're headign back to deal with the TIEs."
"Understood, most of them are backing off but they're still showing a lot of resistance."
The Hawk & the 2 X-Wings then sped back to the battle.
Wover the Academy, Tie after Tie after TIE were bing shot down by Jedi fighters. Fro mthe looks of it, the Academy appeared to be taken less than surprised. As the Hawk & it's wing flight joined back in, more TIEs seemed to spew from the clouds. But what concerned Gabriel was that the Turbolaser Fire would soon centre of on the Academy. Swallowing his pride, he ordered,
"OK, All experienced pilots available, form up on me. We're taking this fight to the Imperials."
Gabriel then veered his fighter toward the Sky, 3 or 4 Fighters joining him, he hoped the Fighters still over the Academy would hold off the TIEs long enough to launch whatever attack he had planned.
As the fighters reached space, Gabriel saw that Pellaeon's Star Destroyers appeared to move into firing range of The Imperial fleet bombarding Yavin 4, both Fleets were pounding into each other with Turbolaser fire.
"Gabriel. What are you planning?"
"We've got to loosen the tention on Yavin. I want at least 1 Star Destroyer to go down in flames by Jedi Fighters."
"Are you crasy? No human could avoid those weapons."
"We are human... but the Force shall guide us. First I need some help from the Imperials helping us."
Gabriel then opened communication to the Imperial Flagship,
"This is Gabriel Kren, am I speaking to the Imperial fleet leader?"
The Captain of the Chimaera, Captain Xartan answered. "This is Captain Xartan of the Star Destroyer Chimaera speaking. Who is this? How did you get this signal?":::...
"Never mind that now, are you in charge of the fleet firing at the Remnant forces attacking Yavin 4?"
"This is Captain Xartan speaking. That is all you will know unless I can positively identify you.":::...
"I identify myself as Jedi Student Gabriel Kren, piloting the B-Wing Ebon Hawk. Now put me in contact with the Fleet commander. I need to speak with him, now!"
Aboard the Chimera, The Liutenant nodded to Captain Xartan who then stepped aside to allow Grand Admiral Pellaeon to answer. "This is Grand Admiral Pellaeon speaking, I am addressing Gabriel Kren of the Jedi Academy?":::...
"You are, Admiral. I need to speak with you urgently."
"What can I do for you Gabriel, please be quick about this.":::...
"I plan on leading a 5-fighter attack run on one of the Star Destroyers firing at Yavin. I need your fighters to fly cover. Launch whatever fighters you can spare & tell them to keep the enemy TIEs off us until we're done."
Pellaeon looked up from the console he used to speak with Gabriel to get the identity match on the console screen beside him. Jedi Kren had a small fighter squad and the Force backing him up. Luke had done much more to the Death Star so many years before with less numbers than what Pellaeon could offer. "Very Well Jedi Kren. You have 12 TIE Interceptors following your lead. Lead them well, I expect them all to return.":::...
"Thank you, Admiral. I can assure you They'll return."
Gabriel the picked out a Star Destroyer to attack, the closest one was also causing major damage to Yavin;s surface.
"OK, all fighters, stand by to attack this Star Destroyer, follow me in & attack the Command Deck. With enough firepower pressed upon it, it should be forced to collapse."
The fighters then dove toward the target Star Destroyer, flying ln loose ofrmation so as not to make them a big target for bot the Turbolasers & the TIEs that would attack.
Once close, they started an attack run, whilst the run was made, the craft armed ordinanace to fire at the command deck, Proton Torpedoes were the best gambit, but with 2 X-Wings, 2 A-Wings & The Ebon Hawk, this was indeed a tall order to forfil.
Once on approach to the Command Deck, Turbolaser fire skimmed the attacking craft, but the ordinance were deployed, fired at the command Deck in sets of 2, the missiles & Torpedoes impacted the shield with some effect, but not enough to cause the shields to collapse,
"No good, we only caused minimal damage to the shields, we need to go round again."
"Damn... alright swing round &..."
"Gabriel. We have incoming. The thing just scrabled it's TIE fighters."
"OK, break formation, attack the Command Deak when you have a clear shot."
The 5 then broke formation & started to engage the fighters, Pellaeon's TIEs soon joined in after being deployed from the Chimera.
After round after Round of atacks on the Command deck, the Shields looked like they were built to last,
"We're not gettig anywhere, Gabriel. Those shields are solid. And we have more TIEs incoming fro mthe other Star Destroyers."
"Damn... now how I hoped to go... dose anyone have any Torpedoes left I only have 4?"
"Sorry, boss, we're all empty."
"Damn." Swallowing his pride, Gabriel opened comms with the Chimera again,
"Chimera, This is the Ebon Hawk. We've run into a problem we didn't see before."
"Ebon Hawk, this is Captain Xartan. Take defensive positions around the Chimaera and be ready to break off when we give the signal." Xartan ended the message and looked to Pellaeon who gave him a nod of approval.
"Understood Chimaera." Gabriel then said, "Ebon Hawk to all fighters. Berak off. I repeat, Break off. Take defensive positions around the Chimaera.":::...
The Fighters agreed with the order, they broke off attack as the order came, flying toward the Chimaera. Once in position, Gabriel said,
"Ebon Hawk to Chimaera. We're in position & awaiting your signal."
Grand Admiral Pellaeon watched from the bridge of his Star Destroyer. The TIE Interceptor groups covering for Tarkin's fleet had been broken through by the starfighter group's firepower and the firepower from the Chimaera. Once Pellaeon's Destroyer had approached the Black Night, the two capital ships began to trade massive amounts of firepower between the two. "They're releasing more fighters!" Spoke up Captain Xartan. "Then let's send them a welcoming party. Send our fighters to engage." Said Admiral Pellaeon:::...
Joining the battle between TIEs, the Jedi fighters opened fire on the enemy & waited to see what was going to happen next, whatever attack Gabriel had planned, it would now have to wait.
...:::Alarms once again blared across the grounds of the Jedi Academy, again the Jedi Masters, Knights, and elder students were called upon to provide the defense. Green streaks came down from the sky hammering the jungle below. Across the Academy grounds various animals ran to and fro looking for any refuge. Already shaken by the bombardment, the roar of fighters leaving the hangar spooked them all the more. While in the space above the jungle moon swarms of TIE Fighters lied in wait, only to find themselves punched through by the turbolaser and heavy laser batteries of Grand Admiral pellaeon's Imperial II-Class Star Destroyer Chimaera. Directly behind Pellaeon's Star Destroyer came the terrifying sight of 3 other Star Destroyers to help defend Yavin and the Jedi. On the bridge of the Chimaera came Pellaeon's check. "Warhammer" "Check" came the response from the Captain. "Resolute" "Check Grand Admiral" came the Resolute Captain's voice. "Punisher" "Punisher acknowledges. Grand Admiral." Came the voice of Grand Admiral Pellaeon's trusted ally and old Imperial war hero Admiral Desard. Desard had served in the Clone Wars with ruthless effectiveness and was secretly promoted to Admiral by then Supreme Chancellor Palpatine himself. Desard was now pushing towards his 79'th birthday yet the fire in his eyes burned through even now. "Launch all fighters and begin your attack. I will not even give them the chance to surrender.":::...
The Jedi fighters were surprised but glad for the help came from the Imperial Remnant, particularly that under Grand Admiral Pelleon's command as they plowed through the TIEs lying in wait to ambush the Jedi fighters. Jacen and Jaina prepared to engage the TIEs with Blue Group as soon as they got into orbit, alongside Katrina with the absense of her brother who was onboard the Eclipse-class Super Star Destroyer, the Darkness. "Stay sharp, Blue Group. We may have the Imps here to help us, but don't get too cocky. Keep an eye on your radar to check for friendly and enemy TIEs. The last thing we needed would be to shoot down the good guys by mistake." Jacen spoke over the com-links. "Will do, Jacen." Katrina replied as she gunned the thrusters of her E-Wing, it was something she liked doing back in the Cleo's Raiders. She turned towards a TIE Interceptor which was indentified as an enemy and went after it with lasers blazing until it went down in front of her. "Yeehaw! You're missing all the fun, Kyle." Katrina spoke to herself, as Tack beeped a bit behind her.
Remembering from Kyle's teachings to open up herself more to the Force, Katrina did just that. She didn't try, for her brother had taught her that to try means to fail. Katrina went after another TIE Interceptor after a quick check with her radar to confirm the target's alignment. It was red, which meant a free game for Katrina. As she saw the enemy TIE went to the right, Katrina performed her famous "Figure Eight". Using the Force, she slowed herself down to get as much shots into her target as possible. The TIE Interceptor took enough hits and went down immediately, two TIE Fighters were attempting to tail her E-Wing, only to be shaken off as Katrina was still completing her "Figure Eight". By the time she had completed flying in the "8" pattern, Katrina saw the two hostile TIE Fighters in front of her and blasted them both down. Meanwhile, Jacen pulled hard on the stick of his X-Wing to shake off two TIE Interceptors which happened to tail him. Both TIE Interceptor poured green laser blasts against Jacen's X-Wing as they managed to stick on his tail. His trouble was only slightly eliminated when a friendly TIE Interceptor. Sighing frustratingly, Jacen broke to the left while using the brakes to force the TIE to overshoot. Seeing his chance, Jacen snapped another tight spin to get at the tail of that TIE Interceptor. He opened fire until the TIE was taken down. Having taken down that TIE and deciding to thank the Grand Admiral, Jacen opened up a com-line with him. "Grand Admiral Pelleon, this is Jacen Solo. On behalf of Jedi Academy, I wish to thank you once again for lending assistance, we surely appreciate it." he said.
Captain Xartan rolled his eyes, first Gabriel Kren finds this frequency, and now Jacen Solo. "This is Captain Xartan answering Jedi Solo. Your thanks are appreciated but would best be saved for a more appropriate time." "Roger that, Captain Xartan. We'll hold them off until more help arrive." Jacen replied with a slight nod, then turned towards a pair of TIE Fighters which were shown as red on his radar screen. Without hesistation, or at least anymore of it, Jacen raced off after the two TIE Fighters and blasted them both down. "Woohoo! Two more for me!" Jacen whooped. Then at that moment, a hyperspace portal opened up in the middle of the battle. Two New Republic Mon Calamari Cruisers appeared out of hyperspace along with a group of fighters escorting them.
Still casually drifting through space while in route back to the Yavin IV temples, Mahtan Nólatári hadn't even entered the atmosphere of Yavin IV before more Imperial ships arrived.
"Give me a break..." He said quietly to himself. He watched as the Imperials arrived and take up positions while sending out fleets to attack the moon surface. Mahtan had turned his V-19 around to watch the events unfold. Turning off his engines he let no light be seen coming form his starship. The flat black paint of the entire ship allowed him to stay hidden from view and hopefully just be passed off as fresh space debris from the last battle if seen. He sat there, drifting, watching.
As a planned attack on Yavin IV began to play, the three enemy star destroyers began to move to certain locations about the moon and unleash sprays of lasers down to the moon's surface. Slowly the Jedi resistance began to pop up.
Mahtan was still drifting; he wasn't crazy enough to fly into a fleet like this by himself. He wasn't quite sure what to do just yet. He had seen a large fleet of bombers fly to the surface and break off to form two separate groups. He had readied himself pursue when a trio of republic fighters moved in to stop them. Luckily, they had... sort of. A few of the bombers were taken out causing the rest to back off their bombing run, at least for the moment.
The engines of the V-19 Torrent filled back up with life. He couldn't sit there any more. As a squadron of fighters of the new republic exited the moon and made a run for one of the star destroyers attacking the planet, Mahtan followed but didn't yet make contact with the leader of the group. The leader appeared to be piloting a B-Wing, which Mahtan believed belonged to that of Gabriel Kren. He would find out soon enough.
Following the small band of republic fighters in, Mahtan managed to keep a few of the TIEs off their back, during their attack runs at the command deck of the destroyer. As they pulled off Mahtan decided to make contact.
"This is Mahtan Nólatári of the Black Corona contacting Gabriel Kren. If you don't mind me joining in I'd like to join up with your squadron." As he awaited a response he took note that Grand Admiral Pellaeon's Star Destroyer was still where it had been not too long ago. But now it seemed to be making a move. The group lead by Gabriel Kren pulled off the enemy star destroyer and took defensive positions. Pellaeon's destroyer, Chimaera, had already released a small amount of TIEs which Mahtan hadn't noticed right way. The Chimaera began to unleash it’s turbolasers towards the other star destroyer, Gabriel Kren and his group then headed back into the battle. Mahtan followed.
Just as the second battle for Yavin of the day really started to heat up, three more destroyers came out of hyperspace. Mahtan cursed under his breath. Luckily they were friendlys, but that connection was yet made with Mahtan.
