UCRP stands for "User Controlled Role Play" and refers to an RPGC forum run by a member (or group of members) that has an open world role play hosted within it.
These forums are modeled after worlds created by the founding members and are moderated by the same party.
While site rules still apply within the forums, additional expectations modeling a specific role play style may be dictated by the UCRP creator(s).
Can I request a UCRP forum?
Membership: You must have been a member for at least 3 months.
Reputation: You must be in good standing on the site (no recent severe rule violations).
Moderation: You must agree to moderate your UCRP in accordance to RPGC site rules in addition to any you may implement yourself.
How do I get a UCRP forum?
Application & Submission: Send a message via PM to the following staff members: AshlanLisannaSets
What rules must my UCRP follow?
Site Rules:: The UCRP must uphold the standards established by the RPGC site rules.
UCRP Activity: The UCRP must remain active. If the UCRP goes inactive for an extended period, it may be archived. View the UCRP activity rules here.
UCRP Moderator Activity: If all moderators of a UCRP go inactive and cause it to lose direction, a moderation spot for the UCRP may be offered to an active member of the UCRP that expresses interest. View the UCRP moderator activity rules here.
IC vs. OOC: The UCRP must focus on IC activity. OOC threads are absolutely encouraged for plotting and bonding with your UCRP members, but please keep all excessive spam to the Spam-O-Rama forum!
Vision: What you envision for your UCRP in the future, and why you believe a UCRP is the best environment for your roleplay.
Subforum(s): List the subforum(s) you would want for your UCRP (no more than 4; more may be granted to UCRPs that are very active and long-lasting).
Description: A brief blurb describing your UCRP that would go under its name on the forum link.
Moderator(s): Any members that you wish to have as moderators for your UCRP (no more than 3, excluding yourself). Please note that any members that are in poor standing with RPGC may not be given a moderator role.
UCRP Application Example
Vision: Everyone wants to be a Pokemon Master. Everyone SHOULD fight to be a Pokemon Master! A UCRP detailing the chronicles of multiple adventurers traveling across several regions to try and catch 'em all will be great for activity, fun, and engaging to anyone that's dreamed of being a Pokemon Master ever since Pokemon Red first came out.
Subforum(s): Kanto, Johto, The PokeCenter, OOC
Description: Trainers travel the world, trying to be the very best! Can you achieve your dream of becoming a Pokemon Master?
3 Month Rule (First Warning): If the UCRP becomes inactive for 3 or more months, the UCRP will be archived (in its entirety) in the UCRP Forum Archive.
6 Month Rule (Second Warning): For 3 months after the UCRP has been archived in the UCRP Forum Archive, a moderator of the UCRP may PM staff to request that the UCRP forum be moved back onto the active forum page.
UCRP Dissolving: If no active moderator of the UCRP contacts staff to have the UCRP reinstated within 6 months of the UCRP initially going inactive, the UCRP will be fully dissolved into the forum archives.
How many times may the UCRP be reinstated after periods of inactivity?
Twice: A UCRP may only be "saved" from dissolving two times. Upon reaching the third strike, the UCRP will not be reinstated.
What counts as "activity"?
IC Posts: IC posts count as a sign of activity.
Non-spam OOC Posts: Relevant OOC posts with the intention of plotting/regaining interest count as a sign of activity.
Abuse of Activity Rules: If it becomes apparent that a UCRP moderator is trying to avoid having the UCRP dissolved by posting once every 3 months (without any additional activity), the UCRP is at risk of being archived.
Moderator Activity: If all moderators of a UCRP go inactive in the UCRP (no posts) for 2 months, a currently active member in the UCRP may request moderation. This member must have good standing with the site for the next step to take place.
Founder Advisory: The UCRP founder will be contacted via PM with an advisory of a member of their UCRP requesting moderation in founder's UCRP. If the founder does not respond within 1 week of receiving the PM, the member will receive the moderation.
Why is this done?: RPGC supports an active moderation team in all UCRPs to help encourage activity and give guidance! A UCRP is at greater risk of falling inactive if there are no leaders present.
How do I avoid being considered "inactive" as a UCRP moderator?: Post! Any OOC or IC posts in the UCRP will count as a sign of moderator activity.
How do I, a non-moderator member of a UCRP, request moderation?: Send a PM to staff! Please include the following in your PM: a link to the UCRP, why you would like to be a moderator for it, and your vision for the UCRP's future.
